So much hate for this game from "fans"

It's the toxic side of entitlement, and probably one of the reasons they helped push GGG's hope for change into a new game, rather having to deal with a bunch of hateful ingrates (see reddit PoE2) who would expertly oppose every proposed change in PoE1 as they're currently doing with the EA of PoE2.

Sure, some have supported the studio with massive amounts of micro transactions over the years. Sure, they helped sustain the product and the company. Sure, they know PoE1 much more than humanely acceptable.
Still - They didn't buy a share of the company, let alone a majority in it, yet behave like it.

Seeing this I can't help but admit that GGG was right in their decision to make PoE2 a different game, with different aims, different audience, and different balances. And leave PoE1 to those who care to stay in that zone (I could bear to get in myself) they they know, enjoy and support.

I hope with all my heart that the company will NOT be bent and swayed by the pile of posts saying "vet here with 9939k hours in PoE1 telling you how much PoE2 is not what I like since it's different from PoE1 and it's not finished..... Duh".

the ones acting petulant children are the devs not the paying customers. please put sponsored by ggg after all your posts. you obviously have a financial stake in this to ride them so hard.
I swear this playerbase is worse than LoL
They should be ignored and let this game get its own entitled whales to support it

Who's that gonna be? You? The OP? I very much doubt it. Most of you are probably still stuck in the campaign and most of you won't be here in 6 months playing, let alone paying. The vast majority of the new audience (you) are just hype bandwagoners and that's why the game has dropped 60% of its playerbase in less than a month.

Maybe I will be wrong. Time will tell.
Love the games. PoE1 way more so than PoE2, but still enjoying both.

Hate the company. The scummy, lying, fake and shitty facade, the excuses, the failures, and most of all, the "Vision".

Keep both of those in mind when reading my posts.
Many people are genuinely excited for a game that will take up the D2 crown and bounced off of POE1. Add a casual game mode, problem solved. GGG wants to scare off their other customers, leave it as is, problem solved.

Nothing says "true fan" like throwing "tourist" at every fan,
and wanting the thing you're "a fan" of to fail, while lashing out at people who enjoy the thing you're "a fan of", and sabotaging the thing "you're a fan of" by constantly shittalking it in forums.

At least be creative and come up with your own shit for once, you bots.

Besides, it's you "veterans" complaining about being stuck.
Sit down, be quiet.

If these bots could form a single thought of their own, rather than parroting whatever the bandwagon says, they'd see how much they contradict themselves.
But alas.

yup, i mean one can't be very surprised by this since the bragging and insults towards ppl with no badges is a tale tale of some emotional imbalance, but it's a huge turn off for the badges themselves. i started negatively associate them due to this behaviour, which is kinda fucked up. maybe its memberberries but i don't remember it being like that at the beginning...

Same, unfortunately.

First off, there's no such thing as a supporter that is enjoying someone's downfall. Second, The number of furious posts has been steadily building. If there is not steady progress towards fixing the issues, this will eventually translate into less eyes on everything the product offers. I've watched this exact process a few times now. Darktide is a great example of the process. It offers a unique experience but the devs consistently fail to address problems in a timely manner (2 years to fix weapon crafting), and it destroyed the product.

If they do another batch of nerfs without major positive changes just one more time, they will lose a portion of the playerbase forever. Question is if they are good with that and want this game to be hardcore only.

Reddit, or even this forum for that matter, has never been, and never will be the majority of the player base. It’s such a small fraction of the player base, it’s not even worth coming up with a percentage. The posts mean very little to the future of the game. Internet has always been and always will be the unhappy MINORITY! The people that are actually enjoying the game are playing it. Not complaining about it. Of course the majority or Reddit posts and forum posts are going to be negative. Please stop using this as some sort of scientific proof.

Sincerely,

Everyone
First - POE 2 is far different from POE 1. I think, GGG screwed up using the same name but did it to carry the brand. It, was a business decision. It doesn't tick many of the POE 1 boxes so of course, people are going to get pissed off.

At it's core, POE2 is a very solid ARPG with a fairly amazing engine but is clearly pre-release - it is 1/2 to a 1/3rd of a game right now. Some of the bugs are big suck, there aren't really many viable builds (as, ultimately, it suffers from the POE1 syndrome of 'just kill the boss before it does anything')

I'm excited for the rest of the campaign. End game needs a looooot of work but it's really no different than POE 1 way back when it released. It's actually closer to a spiritual successor to D3 than D2. Hell - I'm not even sure it's a spiritual successor to POE1.

I will, 100% play POE 2 when there's all the classes, all the weapons. There will be changes to the way support gems work, guaranteed. I also, can see why many, many POE 1 fans will not. It is a great 'souls-like' ARPG.

It is not - POE 1. I do not have 13 tabs open to figure out how to optimally craft an item, or have some jank combination of gems / tree that work.

The problem is - people are comparing the two games and you can't. I put a lot of that on GGG trying to utilize the same brand name. I also, have confidence GGG will refine and carve out an amazing game in the POE 2 sphere. I do not think POE 2 will scratch the POE 1 itch for many though.

I would of liked to have played my degenerate, whack-a-mole dopamine simulator with my crafting codex that is POE 1. POE 1 was like stock-market simulator.. you can't even really buy anoints without an unreal amount of currency in POE 2 at the moment... it's tough to get a totally functioning economy like POE 1 was, just look at the divine / exalt market impact change when the meta craft changed.

POE 2 is not superior in every way because it's comparing an apple to a grapefruit. POE 2 is fine in it's own right. I enjoy POE 2 but I understand why people could be vocally pissed off.

I think perhaps, OP should consider taking their own advice and sitting down instead of chain stringing replies - there are very valid points in the rabbling. Other 2013 account says it well, people just don't arcitulate their valid points well.

if ots not poe 1 then why do the pc players still use all the trade macros and adons? why cant pc players play vanilla? its poe 2 not 1 right? console is FORCED to. they should BAN ALL AD ONS AND TRADE MACROS.now cry to me about your need of trade crutches then tell me trades fine on console. you tell us to look at the market that you right click and cheat all the info onto your screen. consoles cant do that. its so funny how the coddled pc player tells the console players to sit down....
