So much hate for this game from "fans"
" +1 this 100% no reason to bother supporting GGG if its just going to be contributing to this knock off brand slop. A lot of the systems that are being implemented are just poorly done, these weird new fanboys coming out of the woodwork to blow hot air...half the time don't seem to understand why people are disappointed. Hint its not a "Git GUD" crap they keep trying to say it is. Peoples complaints aren't that its too hard, cheap one shots are not too hard you just accept them and build with them in mind and play pure dps. so much for build diversity when everyone just runs the same optimized glass cannon zoom builds because to play differently would be pointless. The changes that were made with the classes and skill tree also pigeonhole players into build the way the developers want each class to build unlike the freedom in POE 1. The changes made to ailments and how they are applied and scale is a further dumbing down from POE 1. They made a cheap knockoff of POE with the target audience being the most braindead ingrates that were unable to figure out how to get off the beach when they were prompted to assign their first skill point. |

" And? Are you truly deluded enough to think that this game is going to sustain a higher player base than PoE1 was, despite being much harder and less rewarding? The game got an insane amount of hype, and it remains functionally within the holiday period. The model is that people keep coming back and playing every 3 months, repeating the entirety of the campaign, and pay money for micro transactions. You are outside your mind if you think that PoE2 lends itself to long-term financial success in its current state given that is the model. |

I've spent more on this game since 2013 than 99.9% of games I've played, by buying actually useful things like many different tabs. If you think you earned anything buy wasting money on supporter packs, think again.
I fully support the direction of poe2, and they need to make it less like poe1, not more. Campaign is great, endgame is terrible (poe1 style). |

" +1 It genuinely feels like they're not buying those to actually support the studio, but to have a cock measuring contest lol Last edited by Fae_Lyth#6750 on Jan 4, 2025, 2:40:25 PM

" GGG aren't your friends; they are a for profit company. I spend money to support the production of the game I want; if they take that money and make a game I don't want, I don't give them more money. It's not a matter of "measuring cocks"; it's a fact that GGG is a for profit company, more than half-owned by Tencent, and people who pay them money are ultimately the ones whose opinions decide whether they make more or less of it. |

a lot of people say ggg are not your friends and are a for profit company.
that is true, but i would point out POE's business model is not a traditional business model. before tencent, it solely relied on the satisfaction of it's playerbase. poe1 is the state its in today largely due to the fact that ggg was forced to keep players happy. back when players started finding ways to multiply damage to higher levels, GGG COULD NOT NERF them. nerfing meant making people's experience worse. this is the beginning of power creep where players end up needing to do millions of dps at end game to be "viable". this relationship with players was close. many of us including myself saw them as friends. for sure you're right when you say ggg is a for profit. i m not arguing about that, i m just saying. have a little empathy to the people who do see/saw ggg this way. these are the people who supported GGG when they needed support the most. i find it sad whenever an oldie laments about how they expected this and that and all people give are harsh jabs at them. without the oldies, POE would have DIED. yet its so easy to just brush them off saying they made a bad investment. personally i went thru that phase too. i hated how poe ended up being a powercreep game where the gap between weak player and strong ones was absurd, and the bare minimum to be viable at endgame is equally a high barrier. i hated how ggg promised poe2 to be the continuation of poe1. i had poured tons of cash into ggg's direction in the hopes poe2 would be completed faster. i HATED temp leagues but i played them anyway with the hopes that all the exclusive gear i got from temp league would make my STD character stronger and make it shine even more when poe2 would release. all that went down the drain when ggg announced poe2 was separate. HUNDREDS or even THOUSANDS of hours that i spent. gone down the drain. all the supporter packs i bought? for what??? yes i legit hated them back then. but i would say it was justified. the interesting thing is, as a melee lover i eventually grew to support ggg's decision as jon kept going on podcasts saying how melee sucked ass and the only way to make melee feel good is if the game was designed AROUND melee. poe1 was too far gone to balance. so poe2 was a good place for a fresh start. currently i m HAPPY the games are split. i think the reason why people are toxic now is because they were like me but instead of embracing the sequel as a new game, they expected the sequel as "more of the same". i m not gonna lie. i was and in a way still AM disappointed the 2 games are split. as the past 4 years i HATED playing poe temp leagues. only in settlers where they buffed melee was the first league where i truly felt FUN. all that because i was high on hopium/copium that poe2 would fix melee and all my efforts would be rewarded. but i have moved past that. i have mourned poe1 countless times. i sometimes feel nostalgic even while playing poe2, because while playing poe2 i realized i enjoy poe2 so damn fucking much. despite all my legacy gear and all my blood and sweat poured into making my standard character as strong as possible over 10 years, i no longer want to even touch poe1. speaking of such. its a good reminder for me to uninstall poe1. i would also say. toxicity is bad, but criticism is not necessarily toxic. i dont like poe2 is fine poe2 is a trash game is not tho its understandable why passionate fans lash out. they've enjoyed poe1 for a decade and spent unknown amount of money on the game to be given a game they do not like. on top of that this new game actively made their fav game worse. settler's league has been prolonged as the devs need to focus a lot on poe2 now. a lot of people are seeing this as a preview of things to come. on a total different note. settlers is by far the best and most fav league for me. if i still was into poe1, i would still be playing it even now. i originally had the idea of skipping poe2 EA and just continue on poe1 until the official release but no. i m hooked. poe2 is my jam. there are still tones of sharp edges ggg needs to smoothen out. but i can see the diamond in the rough [Removed by Support]

" I wouldn't take any of this supposed "hate" seriously. Their opinions are worth nothing without actual critiques with actual play time, which is FEW and FAR BETWEEN. I got the sauce.
POE2 enjoyer. |
