It's Time For Magic Finding to Go
" agreed. It's all this ridiculous comparison to others. Your whole game experience is affected by how much, or how little, you are willing to grind. If you want to have a completely linear progression as fast as possible, then MF feels mandatory. This is almost entirely caused by unrealistic expectations of progress from streamers that have 100x or even 1000x more time in the game than the average player. They choose to rush through everything so they can make guides and pour out content. What's sad is that is NOT how the game is designed. Nor is it the experience that should be the expected baseline. If you personally accept that you will not complete the game with BiS gear in a single week...you realize that mf is not the least bit mandatory. You might even find that the actual grind for "good enough" gear isn't even all that long. Ex: I have been fighting each boss 3-5x while progressing through the campaign. By level 8 on my current character, I have full rare gear and most with 6 mods because I've dropped exalts and regals all over the place. It took me a bit longer than some of the streamers racing to the endgame, but there it is. Starting anew....with PoE 2 Last edited by cowmoo275#3095 on Dec 24, 2024, 12:03:05 AM

Rarity is a gimmick, also it is very unclear how it works.

" This! Just play the game as intended and stop getting upset about being left behind. |

People saying "you are not penalised" and "just play the game", all with hidden profiles so we won't be able to see that they're new to this, hype bandwagoners who don't understand shit about path of exile.
It's not fomo or comparison to others. You are being penalised. You drop fewer orbs and less valuable items, and the ones you do drop are worth less, because others are running MF and you are not. You are poorer and able to do less things within the game because you did not run MF when others are running it. That's how the economy works in a game like this. Even if I type this out, I don't expect you to understand it because you're all probably campaign andies stuck in normal difficulty or something like that. The rest of us who've been playing PoE for years, we understand. Love the games. PoE1 way more so than PoE2, but still enjoying both.
Hate the company. The scummy, lying, fake and shitty facade, the excuses, the failures, and most of all, the "Vision". Keep both of those in mind when reading my posts. |

Yeah people are on here telling people to stop worrying about what others are doing and play the game no matter what... on a forum... for discussing the game... with others...
Of course they're all no supporter packs, hidden profile/no challenges tourists as well. | |
" This is a perfect example of a person who does not understand how mods work in maps in POE 2. In POE 2, it doesn't mean that you have 8 mods, you get a lot of currency. If you noticed, the only stat suffix increases is "waystone acquisition", this isn't like POE 1 where the harder your maps are, the more IIR and IIQ your map is. People don't understand that removing magic find at this stage will only hurt more than it can easy people's FOMO. Those rare gear that you are buying on the market, guess what, rarity also increases the chance for monster to drop those "higher tier 3,4,5" rares that you see. Remove rarity and what do you think will happen when crafting is at this state in POE 2? Doesn't take a genius to know what will happen. Until such a time where, POE 2 have more avenues to get currency and craft gear, people who advocate removing magic find at this stage is either, trolling, doesn't consider the implication of what they are suggesting, no currency to reroll to a magic find character and thus "FOMO" or they just plainly do not understand and just wanted to post for the sake of posting. |

Oh yea listen more to paid streamers.
How is this a problem instead of 40/400 broken mobs? Why is campaign mob 1/10 speed vs map mob(and thats without speed affixes for mobs) Why do you need to click 650 times to loot after single breach(with or without magic find)? Why is ritual garbage? Why is expedition ctrl c ctrl v from poe1? Dont even get me started on delirium. Why is 98% of maps a micro corridor?(that works wonder with things like ritual and breach btw, feels really good not to have mobs spawn for breach or fight in 1/4 of an actual ritual area with a tornado on top) Game's ass and magic find got absolutely nothing to do with it. |

Recent magic find events already made a lot of people quit til next league, not a good sign. When i get a divine orb, i don't feel anything. Mirror of Kalandra the currency called insanely rare, already in the hands of many mf stackers. One person can reach 400-500% MF easily, you can also combine this with party play.
This launch server is ruined already, i doubt they will change it now but i believe they will change it for the next league. If this stays, you can't find any casual people to play this and the target audiance for poe2 was supposed to be them. To be honest, i hope they do add new contents soon and make new league with them just to reset it. Balance builds both good and bad ones, fix the biggest problems that ruining the game like mf, on death, end game boss fights with 6 portals, ascendacies having a fixated trial difficulties for all 8 points, druid and huntress are almost ready to release i've heard etc then release it under a new league and reset it. You'll get many people to play the game again. They have already confirmed new leagues in EA anyways, so don't wait too long for nothing. Majority of casual players in the verge of quiting due to prices sky rocketed and it's really hard to find upgrades without trading. Last edited by Kage#1250 on Dec 24, 2024, 3:34:45 AM

" So your argument is that a few overly complex items that create a one trick pony build validates the current arbitrary gear check resist system that is mandatory to max. People sure love clamoring for hte same dated mechanics that came before for absolutely no reason. When you get down to it, items in most ARPG's are really boring, a few mods are pretty fun and have a visual appeal and can compound and be fun. Chance on hit effects, attack speed, things like this have nuanced affects on other attacks and create genuinely unique builds. But having some arbitrary stat like magic find and resists that you just have to get to a certain level, along with life, energy shield, etc. Just feels so forced and unimaginative. There's a huge problem if POE is afraid to break the mold a little bit. They need to break down these tired systems so they can build on innovative and fun item mechanics that aren't so tired and repetitive. POE 2 is feeling REALLY cookie cuttery right now. And sure, it's early access, but so much of these tropes are just ingrained directly into the game. You really don't get the sense that there's going to be much innovation in the itemization currently, which means all builds will be preordained from the very start. Half the fun of ARPG's is the crazy rollercoaster you go on from the random items, and mods you find that get you to try neat new things. Currently it's: Max resists, get enough damage, then max magic find. We've been doing this for 20 friggin' years. Tired tropes. I've been mostly optimistic for POE 2 because so much here is so good and there is true exceptionalism in the bosses and core play. But NOTHING in the itemization of this game gives even a hint of interest. The way GGG are currently tuning the game, and experimenting with actiony elements and curtailing power and wild builds, really says to me these guys don't really know how to try inovative new things, or change the core forumla of hte ARPG. I get the sense that they don't understand how much is lost to these tired tropes and how much could be gained if they innovated with some new defensive and offensive systems. Rather than embelishing what is good about the ARPG genre, they instead are trying to stifle it, gatekeep power and introduce new game modes that are more action oriented. And it's so rock paper scissory or skill based or even worse, just a luck of the draw, and it is AWEFUL when you are just trying to get cool gear and become strong and play with new randomized systems and try to enjoy a new RPG with some neat new elements. I was really hoping this game would try some new formulas of rpg goodness, inject new item mods, get some neat new actiony mods that truly explored new facets of combat and systems. But instead we got a talent tree that muddies that all up, and items that just do the old tropes with absolutely 0 innovation. It's unnerving to see how much time and effort has gone into getting this all up and running with these old arbitrary gear checks that in no way enhance or change up how you play the game. Do you die in one hit? or not? That is the sum total of itemization in POE 2 right now. Last edited by crazyfingers619#3901 on Dec 24, 2024, 3:42:15 AM

+1
Today I threw on some gear that maxed out MF. I didn't think it would make that much of a difference, but man I was wrong. When the endgame is all about grinding for mats and gear this becomes a necessity and ruins the possible build diversity. Might as well make some stupid spark build with 300% rarity so it takes 1/4 of the time to grind. I don't know, or really care what it does to the economy. I just think it doesn't belong on gear Last edited by Hobbes#0096 on Dec 24, 2024, 3:48:57 AM
