Map Sustain

+1

Run a t13 with 300+ pluss 80% rarity pluss dedicated atlas to sustain.

Got 2 t5

This does not work.

There is zero issues with sustain, it's a skill issue.

If sustain was so bad, how is it people are bulk selling maps? If sustain was an issue EVERYONE would be having that problem.

That's a good question... why some of us don't get enought waystones to play while others get enough to sell them?

We are not isolated cases, so:

a) this is a bug that affects some classes/skills
b) this is the result of a bad design that doesn't provide players enough ways to sustain their gameplay when RNG hits them (why doryani only sells T1-T5 waystones?)

That guy's a troll. Ignore him.

Map sustain is indeed really, really rough - especially at the start. It gets more 'tolerable' once you start maxing out your Atlas tree and invest in rarity/quantity/waystone drops. But 'tolerable' is about the best I'll describe it. Sometimes you'll get 2-3 T15s in an unjuiced T15, and sometimes you'll just get none at all in a 450%+ Irradiated map. Bosses almost always drop a map at your tier, but bosses are pretty scarce.

And if you lose the map to bad affixes? You'd better hope the few other T15s that dropped don't brick, or there goes several hours of sustain. That, or you sell them to recoup some of your EX and buy new T15s. It ain't great.

AM I A TROLL???? I have a lvl 88 necromancer. 2200 HP and 3550 ES (7110 with remnants). Elemental resistances are capped and Chaos is about 35-40% so I only die in T15 maps if I commit a very bad move

This was my last map. Did I say 605% waystones? Sorry it was 643. I only got a T10 map and a regal shard before dying.

And this is a screenshot of the stone citadel.
Spoiler
At the bottom you can verify there is a Kamasa map. Since it is a bonus bap and you can't die, you might expect better loot. But it is not the case

No no no, I agree with you. I was talking about RKxZlcLUUF#5704. He goes from thread to thread shutting down criticism without providing any evidence of his own.

oh... sorry then! :D
No worries!

But yeah, it's extra screwy when you consider how maps drop in PoE1. You can sustain T14-16 very easily in PoE1 just by running a few unjuiced maps if you ever start running low. Sure, you won't get loot, but you'll at least build up a decent pool of maps to start juicing just with 30 minutes of investment or so.

i bet half of the complaining people are running their maps white or blue and dont use their highest maps on bosses.

Indeed. Actually, my main issue with settlers was that I had many more maps that I needed :(

Not my case, as shown in my screenshot
I have 3 tabs full of T15 maps. I don't get the sustain problem. It's so much better than poe1. You just kill a boss node with your highest map and you get 2-7 more of that tier. Pretty awesome.
I don't understand the map sustain gripes either. I only have my experience and a single buddy that I play with, but neither of us have had issues. My atlas has no +waystone, I just went with rarity and then on the T8+ quests beelined it for the double corrupt node.

Maybe +rarity on gear has been affecting my drops? I don't look for this stat but inevitably have 15-30% somewhere. I also pick up every single waystone, and every waystone is trans/aug/regal'd for use.

Bosses most definitely have the best waystone drops. Particularly the biome that has 2 Miller bosses. You end up with 4-8 maps equal or higher tier than what you are running.

Oh, I also full clear maps even after map completion. Well, unless there's like less than a dozen monsters left.

I've never had map bosses drop more than 2 maps, and the other is always like tier 2 or something. The other is usually map tier, often lower tier, and rarely higher.

I've been running with 40-90% MF and saw no difference ever. Sometimes i get a lucky drop of say t12+ and do it, only to find one t5 map. I'm not sure how I am supposed to go up in tiers like this.

trade your low maps up to higher ones and run them rare. problem solved believe me
