GGG probably has access to a lot of metrics here and there. They know what players engage with, and what they don't engage with. They know how many people started playing, and how many still do, and at what level of play.
Then there's the forums feedbacks from a small amount of players. I don't know which ones they'll put more focus on...
Anyway, I'm sure that a lot of players are enjoying the game, especially the earlier normal Acts. Still, GGG wants PoE2 to succeed, and I do too. I kind of like the overall game direction towards harder fights, even if it’s not everyone's preference. Yes, it will leave some people out, but I much rather they stick to what they have now that to try to make it into a new PoE1, or even something else entirely.
As such, I think that the game needs to keep the challenging fights, maybe tone down the overall damage both ways (both ours and the bosses) so that it doesn't become a game of "kill the boss before it can move and kill you".
I want to play and to do engaging content, be it boss fights or cool mechanics. I don't want tedium. I don't think many players like tedious content anyway, even if it's hard to strike a balance between grind and content bloat/useless content. I honestly don't want mindless grinding or a second/third job. As such, they need to remove or adapt the useless/chore like mechanics.
However, the endgame currently feels like a chore, sadly, especially pinnacle boss farming/tries. I hope they change that to make it easier to try the bosses fights.
It's EA (or should we simply say a Beta we are paying for), and they probably have a lot of time to add more convenience/QoL we expect from a 2024/2025 title, but I honestly really like how the game feels... and if they can add more support gems, change how the endgame feels (make it less tedious) and remove many martial weapons skill restrictions to increase build diversity, they'll have a solid game.

Not really. There are enough people who get through the campaign and endgame quite comfortably. It's only a small portion of players who come to the forum and actually whine about the difficulty. Instead of being patience and trying to learn boss pattern and bettering your analysis of situations (for example: take out ranged mobs before melee mobs), people want the game to get tuned down. They want their hand to be hold, like in PoE1. Merveil act 1? Just get 2 white cold res rings from Nessa for 2 wisdom scrolls and merveil can be face tanked. You can just stand there and your life reg does the rest... And here? The mad wolf? Yeah fuck it, even with cold res, you certainly have to dodge and do something. That's how a game should be: challenging the player to overcome difficult situations.
The complaining PoE1 players here mostly seem to be like babies, still wanting to be breastfed and whining if no one takes care of their needs, instead of learning to actually eat themeselves.
So yeah, you die 30 times to a boss? GOOD, that means you still don't understand the boss. Can't figure out the patterns? Ask others are watch a video/stream and then get back to it. That's what the term "Git gud" actually means. Skill is the best weapon you can have in this game. You can have the weakest weapon and still win every boss battle. It just takes more time then. And the game already gives you alot of options. You can buy extremely good equipment from other players for just 1 ex per piece, especially weapons. You can form a party with others who can actually kill the boss for you (enough people do it for free). But yeah, that means you didn't overcome the challenge yourself. And this feeling is where the complains are coming from. PoE1 players don't feel like gods here anymore. They die, constantly. You could easily play HC in PoE1 and have a good and easy time, but here - oh boi, you can stomped. I played HC in PoE1 but I accept I'm not good enough to play PoE2 without any death. But that's okay, I just play standard league and don't whine about it. I'm still feeling pretty good with my warrior, beating the shit out of bosses. Others should learn to enjoy PoE2 too. And struggling is part of that fun.
Man shut the hell up, even the guy who got World first Diablo 3 inferno kill in hardcore when everyone tought it was impossible is saying the game is not balanced and the one shots are constant endgame, and he´s playing of of the most tanky builds in the game with like 20+ minions, and he understand PoE very well, so stop lying and stop talking BS, only people having fun (if there some to be had in this game) are the guys running broken builds with over 20k ES that will get nerfed 100%.

im running 4.8k mana MoM and im having a blast. Seen titans with similar hp pools on YT, so game seems perfectly playable.
I am not denying ES being broken in its current state, it will get addressed eventually

The game in it's current form is tedium, on top of tedium, on top of tedium all smothered in molasses and tar for good measure. It also seems to have attracted the particular type of crowd who love being "good at games" to come and tell everyone that the reason the game isn't fun is actually because we're bad at it, lol.
