Yes you can!

Make a Normal league and Ruthless league.

Ruthless is what we have now.
Normal is toned down.

All it takes is changing some numbers around.

No its not. You make easy mode players will play that instead. Why? Because players in general are greedy and lazy. They will always choose the path of least resistance. Players will play easy mode > game will get balanced around easy mode > game turns out like PoE1. I dont want PoE1, i already have it.

People want to have a choice. If you choose to play on ultra hard, that's your right, but that doesn't mean everyone else should follow your vision. Everyone has the right to play at the difficulty that suits them. Denying this freedom of choice is elitist and selfish

Ultra hard?.. I’m sorry but what

Elden Ring being hard didn't stop casual players from enjoying it. To argue that casuals don't like challenge is a lie. YOU don't like challenge because you don't actually want to play an action rpg. You want to play Cookie Clicker.

Elden Ring rewards you for conquering something.
Nice try elitest.

This isn't an ARPG, its a dungeon crawler larping as a souls game.

Demanding a choice on the other is narcististic. Not everything must catter to your specific needs. They have much more to lose than you, you know?

Dude has literal cheat code called “trading” that lets you get BiS gear but still complains about it being ruthless.

As a SSF player I find this ridiculous.

Same I’m ssf and all these whiners that can’t even get 4 ascendancies after the patch just want even more handed to them.

I’m playing the supposedly dead warrior class too so it’s just telling how much of the player base isn’t casual, but just not that good.

Casual is play time, not necessarily skill level, and I probably have WAAYYY less hours than … most is say on the forums

If you think PoE 2 is anywhere near the difficulty of souls-likes then you have never played a souls-like. Skill issue.

I've platinum in every single souls like that Fromsoft has made. PoE2 is much more difficult in a lot of ways.

In souls games once you reach a boss you get infinite attempts to try them, learn their mechanics, 'git gud' so as to say & finally beat it.
In PoE2, you get 1 attempt every few hours to try the endgame bosses. This makes it very hard to learn mechanics, most people end up watching a youtube video about it before they go into the fight.

Souls games don't have randomly generated monsters and affixes. In PoE2, because of how rare monsters work they can be very random & deadly, basically killing you without teaching you anything about how to prevent that death. The only solution becomes to out-dps everything or be insanely tanky.

Demanding that everyone follows your vision of difficulty is indeed narcissistic. Not everything should cater to your personal needs. Others have their own preferences, and they have much more to lose than you. If you deny them the option to choose an easier difficulty, you risk not only frustrating them but also losing players. This could lead to a loss of customers, and in the end, it will hurt all players

They took out multiplicative scaling on builds making build design easy and brought the average good and bad player closer together in terms of power. The game is casual friendly now to the point ANY half decent build can obliterate any sort of content.

Res is no longer hard to deal with
Travel nodes now give whatever stat you want
There is no spell suppression
The game has built in tools now to gain clarity about what things on the tooltip mean
The passive tree has been simplified to the point any half decent build would run the same sort of nodes without needing some research into what works
The game now goads you into using the correct skills by binding them all to a weapon

How much MORE casual friendly does this game need to be?

If given the chance some people would optimize the fun right out of a game.

Its not narcististic at all, the game belongs to them. They are free to do with it whatever they want. You may buy what they are selling or not, the choice is yours. You should choose products based on your personal preferences not damand the change of the core design to fit your idea. Soulslike games proved that there is a market for such games. You are not part of it? Sucks to be you than.

What I think is funny is these same people will argue most the players still play are all in the acts, so they’d be casual, yet overwhelmingly positive on steam

Minority complainers on the forums can’t even be consistent
