Allow us to replace (overwrite) runes.

Agreed. Maybe allow us to target farm a material to remove them, a significant gold cost, or some other option. But this should be changed for sure. The entire crafting and gearing system needs a swrious overhaul.

Why?

Because I prefer system where your choices matters and you need to think on them. If you can respec/remove/replace everything you don't even need to think about it.

That is way, way more enjoyable for me.
Absolutely +1
would be cool if you could just pop runes in and out no drama mamma
Bump, I have trillions of runes and never use them because It is now worth finding a new set of gear to fit them. Only 1 person in 6 pages thought we don't need a way to replace them.

You are advocating for a system in which you cannot possibly know when/what you would need unless you can see the future. Running around with unfilled sockets ≠ your choice mattered.

You can say that about crafting materials as well. You used your last exalt on the item, but then you dropped better item? Let's reverse crafting, you get your exalt back. Or corruption did not get your way? Let's revert it. No. You choose when to use crafting mats, and you loose them and you choose when to use runes and you loose them and socket. Your choice matters a lot.
That is a beauty about that - you don't see the future and you choice can be wrong - what's bad about that? I don't get why people are so afraid of making bad choices.

That is a strawman argument. You don't know the outcome of exalt slamming or vaaling items and they are meant to be inherently luck based whereas runes are supposed to be a form of determinism for your gear. TBH I am going to stop replying to you because you barely play the game and do not know what it's like (nor care to understand) for people who do actually play.
