[PSA] You're in EARLY ACCESS, give feedback but don't expect your character to be intact
" I've already linked you dozens of sources that present different definition (that lined up with one another) to one you made up. As you're very eager to ask for sources please provide one that states your definition. Best more than one. Until then, the definition I provided is one we're going to abide to and by that definition we're very much in alpha state. Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance. " Yeah, but you can also post nonsense complaining about your build being ruined by balance change. That is not feedback that anybody needs, its just pointless noise coming from ignorance to what you're taking part in. Which this post (the PSA) is trying to solve. The second paragraph: no. If you think that you misunderstood (or just ignored) what I wrote. I've said myself that I've left my own feedback, so that alone makes your statement absolute nonsense. Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance.

It's just about the fact they have completely singled out and screwed some players with no compensation. The game is literally unplayable for a lot of people now and they have to spend all day farming trash to sell to vendors to respec because the devs happened to single them out.
Respecs should be free during a testing period to encourage experimentation so that they can gather more data anyway. This is just a really bad look on their part. |

I think alot of people are mis-understanding and mis appropriating their issues.
The issue is not so much that there are changes being implemented but it is how they are implemented. GGG have always been quite poor with their communications and detailing of upcoming changes. Naturally there will be strategy in how, what and when to say but something with Early Access the focus should be on top tier communication with the player base. The purpose of EA is to test the game, features, content and receive constructive feedback. Therefore any changes made to the game should be done in a way that empowers the player base to adapt to those changes so they can continue playing the game. Anything that stops a player from playing only harms GGG's interest in testing and developing POE 2. The latest patch is a prime example - significant mechanic change which ~30% of the player base are reliant upon changed and there is no means to enable those players to adapt their builds. This means that ~30% of players all of a sudden are not playing the game and wasting time figuring out what to do just to be able to resume. That is very poor management of 'resources' and if anything like that was done in any other operational setting (e.g. public transport, streaming services etc) all hell breaks loose. Just because this is a game, does not necessarily mean good practice goes out the window. GGG need to consider the community impact further prior to making such fundamental changes. They have done it many times before (forewarning of upcoming major changes mid-league). If this patch was implemented next week instead of this week (when the notes were released) I highly doubt there would be so much attention, as this has drawn, from the community and it would have been 'business as usual'. |

So you have fully functional freezing build, what stops you from doing dps yourself like everybody else? Maybe alter a build a bit and get some cri or some fire nodes as weapon swap for dps? I fail to see how removal of automation "bricks" entire build.

Your link is bad info. This is not an Alpha. It is basically an open beta that requires you to pay to play.
Alphas are far different. The problem is that they are not advertising it as a beta, they are calling it "early access" which historically was used to describe games in a pre-launch state. It was a term used for people that would get access to a game like a week or so before the official launch. The description of the early access for this is that it is a paid beta test. |

" Yet ranger is perfectly fine with clearing maps and soloing hard bosses? While the player base shouldn't decide on the value doesn't mean the changes GGG makes shouldn't align with what the players want and what is required for the class to exist. While it might not be the only outlier, it is the most heavily nerf to the point where other classes are far more playable and enjoyable making players shy away from playing that class. The objective needs balancing around all classes not heavy nerfs to a single class that makes it harder. Otherwise what good is sorc or spell casting if ranger can clear the whole map with poison and fire. I guess everyone should just stop playing spell casting and play ranger from now on. " Completely agree with the second point, but at the same time they way want to try and "force" people into rerolling so that they get more stats from early game. Personally I don't think that is way to go and they should just give easier way to respec so that people can continue, but on the other hand its been few days and I'd say game development is more important (at this stage) than characters made. This is especially true since there will be changes to more systems than just skills and they may create changes big enough to brick characters, no matter what tools they provide to players. They may even have to wipe the characters completely at some point. Its just that I'm getting an impression (and literal statements in case of this thread) that people think this is the finished game that they can expect to play comfortably and I think it is a problem (maybe it was not communicated well enough by devs, I dunno). Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance.

" I'm not sure you understand what the word nonsense means. Feedback is feedback, if it's going to be regarded as something that requires change is up to GGG. That is to say, not you. Stop trying to arbitrate what constitutes feedback on the feedback forum. Maybe just stay away if its "nonsense" rubs you the wrong way. Otherwise you're just trolling. |
