Please explain to me how someone who plays the campaign for 40 hours, disappears for three years, replays the campaign with a new class, repeat, brings the most income?

1000 players each bringing $10 one time generate a lot more income that 1 player slowly buying packs and spending whopping $5000 eventually.

100,000 players each bringing $10 one time beat a handful of packs-enjoyers so hard it's not even funny.

Wolcen, Lords of the fallen had 130k peak when POE had ~110k.
Last Epoch still has a higher peak player count than POE, on release.

Yep. And Wolcen's reviews immediately plummeted so hard it wasn't even recoverable (that is, if they'd tried to recover which they didn't). So players were enticed by smooth graphics and VFX but immediately found out that the game is shit.
That's in comparison with PoE2 having 84% positive reviews right now and growing.

Flop Epoch attracted tons of players during its years-long EA stage, all those players launched 1.0... only to find it pretty shitty. See Wolcen's story for what happened next.
