Please, respect our time when doing such drastic balance changes

I also hope that GGG will consider lowering the re-spec cost or making it free every time they make this sweeping change even only during the Early Access.
This is also beneficial for GGG. If players can easily re-spec to other builds when their build got bricked, more players can test different builds in the endgame which most of the OP / "out of line" builds shine. So, GGG can spot these builds/skills/interactions faster, & they can nerf or put them in line immediately. There's no point to drag this out for the sake of squeezing "game time" in Early Access. "A game IS supposed to waste your time but it's not supposed to make you FEEL like you're wasting your time:
It's supposed to make you WANT to waste your time." |

" You're contradicting yourself. All new content that is added to the POE is always in the endgame. Endgame it's t1 and higher btw. If the "tourist" does not reach the endgame, he will not see the new content, because the company never changes with rare exceptions, and contains at best 30% of the mechanics of the league. And no, there are not thousands of players in POE playing for the sake of the company, because this game has never been famous for its company, it has never been its selling point and dignity. This is not what makes the game popular and not what people come back to it for (read above) Третьего дня, по совету проверенных комрадов, приобрел мегадевайс - пробку "Кудуку3000". " Yep. And this is exactly why PoE2 has outright more players RIGHT AT EA LAUNCH than PoE1 ever did. And this is also exactly why repeating the same mistakes as PoE1 did would be very unproducitve... financially. |

" I don't give two ***** what they need, if they need something from me they can pay me $30 and not the other way around. |

" First, we talked about Poe 1. Secondly, the popularity of Poe 2 is the result of a confluence of an infinite number of circumstances, starting from the streams of Asmongold and the fall of Diablo 4, and ending with the updated graphics of the game, which are not equal anywhere else now. I understand that it is convenient to involve a company in this argument, but it does not work because there are too many variables in this formula Третьего дня, по совету проверенных комрадов, приобрел мегадевайс - пробку "Кудуку3000". " Please explain to me how someone who plays the campaign for 40 hours, disappears for three years, replays the campaign with a new class, repeat, brings the most income? This is the most insane statement I've seen on this forum, and I've seen some serious cope lately. This isn't Elden Ring, this is a free game. The updates are free. That person spends nothing on the game. How does that bring income?! The people spending money are the 300k or so active players every three months, not bill the dad with three kids who enjoyed the campaign of poe 10 years ago when he was in college, then played through the new acts once 3 years ago. The "people that bring income" are the people who want cool cosmetics for the characters they spend 4k hours staring at, and buy a crapton of stash tabs for the obscene amount of farming they do. Out of all the arguments you could make, this one I can't find a single way where it makes sense. Edit: " Wolcen, Lords of the fallen had 130k peak when POE had ~110k. Last Epoch still has a higher peak player count than POE, on release. Release hype, game is losing around 20k players per day etc, I was playing it until yesterday, I can't really get myself to play it anymore and reinstalled 1. People have made the same old arguments about every bad release, the fact that these conversations even exist should tell you all you need to know. So the purpose of a beta test is to gain feedback and data about how your customers are interacting with your product. To that end we are provided with early version of the product with the understanding that it will change often, and at times drastically.
In the case of gaming, specifically games like this, multiple dozens of hours must be put into the product before a customer is capable of testing certain late-stage parts, such as the later acts and the endgame in this context. If a change you make to the product suddenly invalidates your customers entire ability to continue engaging with it using their current methods, it makes complete sense to immediately provide a way of pivoting into another method of testing so that they can continue right where they left off and do not lose the hours they have already invested. Providing a free respec has no drawbacks. The players who use it would simply continue testing the product after a brief adjustment to their builds, which is exactly the point of the beta test. Instead they provide nothing, and simply tell players to toss their current invested hours into the bin and reinvest the hours all over again just to get back to where they were in the testing process. As a result of this they now lose testers who do not wish to start over. Again, they lose nothing by providing a free respec. The players would just continue testing the product. It's insane to me that people defend not providing one for no apparent reason. |

" This is due to their vision that "respec the tree should feel like a valuable step." And I agree with that, but not when I HAVE TO respec the tree. In this situation, respec is not my choice and is not a valuable step. It's literally impossible to play without it, and I was forced to do it, but I can't because I don't have the resource. It's really crazy. Третьего дня, по совету проверенных комрадов, приобрел мегадевайс - пробку "Кудуку3000". По приходу домой жадными цепкими лапами распаковал и заюзал мегадевайс. Couldn’t agree more. The group I play with does not have time to constantly reroll characters or farm gold. Honestly, none of us even mind the bugs - it’s EA they’re gonna happen.
Broken ascendencies, nerfs, and other bugs have forced us to respec multiple times and create new characters. The time it takes to farm enough gold to respec or start a new character is excessive. Easily solved by a couple free respecs or significantly reducing the gold cost. |

" This vision only makes sense when players are powerful enough to acquire the means of respec'ing regardless of the changes from the developers. In most games heavily nerfed characters still function, just at a much lower output before they get enough resources to respec. In PoE, heavy nerfs fully BRICK characters, inhibiting the ability to acquire the means to respec at all. This is the problem. Last edited by Rahuruk#2516 on Dec 12, 2024, 6:24:19 AM
