Ascendancy is beyond cancer now
Trials of Chaos modifiers should not carry over to bosses. it's stupid af. this is not PoE 1 (as mfers love to say in this forum). you can't just add a bloat of one-shot BS in a bullet hell and expect us to have CWDT setups, cheat deaths and shit.

" No they have not. In most cases: more defense = less offence aka doing less damage. An almost ALL mobs in this trial do AOE damage which cant be blocked/negated. Your defenses are useless. Went with my shield/block warrior into the trial with full honor. Room 2 i had 54/600 left because you have to get close but you get totally wrecked by aoe. I am not playing melee anymore until this bs is fixed and the honour system removed. |

Sanctum is my most hated mechanic of all time. This is... beyond horrible.
Much of the game is great -- this is amongst it's most horrific ideas. |

I agree, only 2k hours in PoE 1 so I'm no expert, but I LOVED Lab's and this is a large step in the wrong direction. I love the added difficulty of this game, but not this.

The ascendancy is my least favorite part of the game after having made it to level 72 / t4 maps. The obvious outcome here for both trails is players will just wait until they massively over gear the trial so it's reduced to just dodging traps. The honor mechanic in particular feels like total bs even when using honor buffing relics. I haven't even bothered attempting the 3rd of 4th because I had zero fun doing the first two. I don't even understand why they would make players 'git gud' at a mechanic you will literally never see outside of the actual trial. Feels like a bad use of recycling an old (and unpopular) poe 1 mechanic.

I wish there was a cleaner explanation, I still have no idea what the water actually does, I know keys open the chests at the end and you have honour instead of life but wondering what is the ludological purpose of the honour is. Surely it's honourable to finish the rooms as opposed to avoid damage?

Didn't like it in Poe1 but I went in with an open mind assuming they'd made it better. If this Sanctum cancer stays as is, I'm 100% done with Poe2. I fucking dare any developer to put up a vod where he completes it with a melee build. Sanctum was really niche even in Poe1, very few really liked it but most people never touched it. And you go making it necessary for ascendancy? Boggles the mind how out of touch with your own customer you are.

Here's my proposal: get rid of honor as health. Disable healing. Get rid of sacred water.
You now earn honor by by killing mobs. Every couple zones you get a guaranteed vendor or healing fountain so you can trade your honor for health. |

Please just remove honor at the boss or better make it give bonus chests based on a percentage of honor you have at end like tiered.
100 99-90 89-60 Something like that so still becomes very lucrative for certain builds |
