This game is NOT a looter ARPG anymore!!!

Hello good people of GGG... or rather absolute buffoons of GGG that don't understand that Path of Exile is a LOOTER ARPG and PoE2 has to AT LAEAST be in the same genre!!!

So let's start with the basics... in a looter game there is NO LOOT!!! Also the system of how loot drops is so disgustingly predictable that there 99% of the enemies you kill are USELESS outside of XP... white mobs don't drop anything... blue mobs drop white shit and maaaaaaybe a blue and elite enemies drop blues and maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaybe a rare item once in a blue moon...

The biggest thing that makes ARPGs fun is the randomness of drops... you know, that moment where you kill some bullshit trash mob and somehow a unique item drops and you're like "HOLY SHIT!!!" or a rare drops that somehow with a bit of work is perfect for you...

I was playing Last Epoch a while back and I got an uber powerful unique elemental sword by BREAKING A RANDOM BOX!!! Sure the probability was 1 in a million to get that but it's there!!! I was laughing for half an hour at how stupidly lucky that was but it was a FUN MOMENT!!! ARPGs are fun because of that randomness... because you are killing things with the rush that anytime now something awesome is gonna drop and THAT is what keeps you going...

In PoE2 you know EXACTLY what will drop and 99% of the time that is NOTHING!!!

Now to the 2nd point... this game is NOT HARD... this game is TEDIOUS, time consuming and has a fuckton of stupid mechanics that make you redo non-challenging things again and again as a punishment... why the fuck do I need to kill all the trash mobs (that give NO LOOT mind you!!!) again because I died once???

I was playing the trial of ascension and I was blasting through it with my lightning ranger build but in the final boss (which hadn't hit ONCE me up until that time) when he was a 10% HP I made one wrong dodge roll and he one shot me... so I had to do the WHOLE TRIAL AGAIN!!! Wasting my time again... yes that was in PoE1 too but in PoE1 the bosses were damage checks, not one shots that would punish you cause you misclicked once in 25 mins (the whole trial)... in PoE1 if you got your butt kicked you knew your build was bad and you needed to rethink things A LOT...


This game has a campaign that is 50+ hours long FOR NO REASON and while it does that it also forces you to waste time redoing things again and again... sorry but I'm not a loser like those streamers that look like homeless people... I have a life and a job and in PoE1 I would have been through the campaign by the time I got to the mid of Act 2 in PoE2...


GGG, you have NO RESPECT for your playerbase... you don't care about the people that have kept you alive for 10 years (before you say something stupid this is my steam account, 99% of my playtime is on my old one which I don't use anymore and also played on PS4 for a while) and you decided that the ONLY player base that counts for you are the unemployed no-lifers, the streamers and people that only play Ruthless difficulty in terms of loot scarcity...


Shame on you... shame on you for lying to your whole community and not being clear because YOU KNEW many would buy those 100$ support packs to help you because they wanted PoE2 so bad... and then you scammed them out of their money and showed them the middle finger and went and made a game that is not even the same genre... instead you made a top down Elden Ring wannabe for the "git gud" army!!!

Well, the "git gud" and the "skill issues" army will stay for 6 months and then will leave for the next "git gud" and "skill issues" game.. what then? Then you'll come to us and say "why don't you play our games anymore guys?"... By then it will be TOO.... FUCKING.... LATE!!!

I agree strongly! Currency drops should be drasticly improved! Base item qualiry maybe also a bit. But mostly orbs. Like in ur own trailer u said to craft yet i have seen 2 essences and ZERO strongboxes in the entire normal campaign!!! 1 alchemy!!! What do I do with it? It is just one coin in the infinite slot machine so it is 99% gonna be garbage. WE NEED more currency!

Well, at least they didn't remove the whole post... I'll give them that much...

Their new game is a mess though and it's made by people that don't understand the word LOOTER or the words ARPG...
They definitely went the hybrid route on this game, like so many others have failed miserably. It's a really huge task to create something 'challenging' without being lumped into a specific genre, or alienating most of the players with difficulty spikes that make them hopelessly stuck. Some will 'Git Güd', while most will simply get going and play something else.

I personally heard the term "Dark Souls" come from the dev streams and interviews, so they are more than aware that they are twisting the genres to make the ultimate Frankenstein game that we've never seen before. It's one of those things that sounds great on paper, but it flops and falls short in the translation process, which is why we have different genres of games. It simply doesn't work in most cases.

I wasn't fearful when hearing "Dark Souls" or "engaging combat" from the interviews, because that can work if there is support in the game for the player to deal with the challenges. From what I see thus far, the veteran POE1 players seem to be adapting much better than most players, and some are getting downright cranky in here calling everyone else whiners. That isn't the EA spirit, that's not a beta testing atmosphere, it's just plain rude and needs to stop.

There is an avalanche of problems with POE2 as it stands, but the one thing that should not be a problem is the direction they want to go in. I don't think anyone really knows which direction that is at this point, not even GGG.

When you bring out a game named PATH OF EXILE 2 the game should be a LOOTER ARPG and that means the game should have randomized drops to keep the player engaged... that is the NUMBER ONE MECHANIC OF EVERY LOOTER!!!


Sorry but saying that I'm "cranky" and I don't have the right "mentality" in this "early access" is absolute BULLSHIT... they didn't even hit the right GENRE for the game... this is not getting some details wrong... this is the customer ordering a stake and you bring him fried mushrooms...


Sorry but the devs and their whole idea shows absolute incompetence, absolute stupidity cause they just decided "oh hey, Elden Ring gets hype... we should make Path of Elden instead" which is an absolutely 0IQ logic since they didn't even consider what they're making...

And finally the devs never said that this game wouldn't have randomized loot and that it wouldn't be a looter ARPG anymore... because if they did , PoE fans wouldn't have paid for those overly expensive 100$ support packs, would they?

I was talking about a random awesome drop I got from a random box in Last Epoch, not PoE2...


PoE2 doesn't have strongboxes.

My point was that without randomized loot and knowing mobs will NEVER give you anything, killing them is even more boring because you have no anticipation...
