+1, They removed meaning full crafting and replaced it with window shopping at NPC's, super innovative and forward thinking! Idk the game design for POE 2 feels like a huge backwards step for the brand/genre.


It obviously is a HUGE backwards step... they replaced all the build crafting with a dodge roll which they completely balanced the game around... they replaced loot and the excitement of getting an epic drop with window shopping from NPCs (the worst kind of gearing mechanic in the world) and gambling resources that you get so scarcely that it's not exciting to succeed but more of a relief that you didn't fail... which is also NOT FUN!!!


The endgame is a brutal endless punishment of you being one-shot and losing more XP than you're gonna gain if you succeed and when you regain the XP slowly you get one-shot again and lose it and it goes on and on and on... never progressing just to keep you running like hamster on a wheel...

They obviously didn't make the game to be fun... they just asked "specialists" of the market what is the biggest hype right now (Elden Ring) and then asked how to make the most egregious methods of player retainment through lack of progress and they threw them all in...

This game is not even a game... it's more of a social experiment on how much masochism and frustration can retain players!!!

Couldn't have said it better myself. The game just keeps punishing you again and again and again. The only reason people have so much patience for it atm is because of the PoE IP attached to it. If this was some new game by a no-name studio it would be falling apart already lmao

Hello good people of GGG... or rather absolute buffoons of GGG that don't understand that Path of Exile is a LOOTER ARPG and PoE2 has to AT LAEAST be in the same genre!!!

So let's start with the basics... in a looter game there is NO LOOT!!! Also the system of how loot drops is so disgustingly predictable that there 99% of the enemies you kill are USELESS outside of XP... white mobs don't drop anything... blue mobs drop white shit and maaaaaaybe a blue and elite enemies drop blues and maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaybe a rare item once in a blue moon...

The biggest thing that makes ARPGs fun is the randomness of drops... you know, that moment where you kill some bullshit trash mob and somehow a unique item drops and you're like "HOLY SHIT!!!" or a rare drops that somehow with a bit of work is perfect for you...

I was playing Last Epoch a while back and I got an uber powerful unique elemental sword by BREAKING A RANDOM BOX!!! Sure the probability was 1 in a million to get that but it's there!!! I was laughing for half an hour at how stupidly lucky that was but it was a FUN MOMENT!!! ARPGs are fun because of that randomness... because you are killing things with the rush that anytime now something awesome is gonna drop and THAT is what keeps you going...

In PoE2 you know EXACTLY what will drop and 99% of the time that is NOTHING!!!

Now to the 2nd point... this game is NOT HARD... this game is TEDIOUS, time consuming and has a fuckton of stupid mechanics that make you redo non-challenging things again and again as a punishment... why the fuck do I need to kill all the trash mobs (that give NO LOOT mind you!!!) again because I died once???

I was playing the trial of ascension and I was blasting through it with my lightning ranger build but in the final boss (which hadn't hit ONCE me up until that time) when he was a 10% HP I made one wrong dodge roll and he one shot me... so I had to do the WHOLE TRIAL AGAIN!!! Wasting my time again... yes that was in PoE1 too but in PoE1 the bosses were damage checks, not one shots that would punish you cause you misclicked once in 25 mins (the whole trial)... in PoE1 if you got your butt kicked you knew your build was bad and you needed to rethink things A LOT...


This game has a campaign that is 50+ hours long FOR NO REASON and while it does that it also forces you to waste time redoing things again and again... sorry but I'm not a loser like those streamers that look like homeless people... I have a life and a job and in PoE1 I would have been through the campaign by the time I got to the mid of Act 2 in PoE2...


GGG, you have NO RESPECT for your playerbase... you don't care about the people that have kept you alive for 10 years (before you say something stupid this is my steam account, 99% of my playtime is on my old one which I don't use anymore and also played on PS4 for a while) and you decided that the ONLY player base that counts for you are the unemployed no-lifers, the streamers and people that only play Ruthless difficulty in terms of loot scarcity...


Shame on you... shame on you for lying to your whole community and not being clear because YOU KNEW many would buy those 100$ support packs to help you because they wanted PoE2 so bad... and then you scammed them out of their money and showed them the middle finger and went and made a game that is not even the same genre... instead you made a top down Elden Ring wannabe for the "git gud" army!!!

Dawg, with only 40 magic find you'll struggle having enough portals with the amount of rares dropped in 15+ maps. It's a non-issue.
I agree: it is not the difficulty, but the required time for each enemy. It a good improvement form poe to require to learn the adequate secuence of movements, skills and supports. But we must repeat them hundreds of times...

It's tediousness... and honestly I find myself tired of playing way more than having fun playing... it's all tiring... you just attack and dodge again and again and again and again... every boss of PoE2 takes about 5 times more time than any boss in Elden Ring (since Elden Ring is their inspiration apparently, despite the small issue that Elden Ring is NOT A LOOTER ARPG!!!)

Whatever... people saying this game won't die are delusional... when something actually new and hyped comes around this game is dead in the water... and Monster Hunter Wilds is just 2 months away!!!
