I am worried that GGG might listen to the whiny "game too difficult :(" crowd

For everyone who has
- given the game a fair chance
- actually engaged with the game's mechanics
I believe the game difficulty is perfectly fine as is.
You'll figure out where the problem lies pretty quickly (I, too, got oneshot, until I realised I was sitting at -30% resistances and upgraded my gear).
You'll also figure out boss patterns pretty quickly. You die to the thing once, remember it, and don't die to it next time. Simple.

I've seen 3 types of people complain about PoE2s difficulty:

1) People who just gamehop and complain about everything, while refusing to learn any mechanics about the game, and calling everything that remotely resembles having a mechanic "too difficult".
I've seen journalists call Spongebob Bikini Bottom "too difficult".
There is no limit to what people will find "too difficult", and how much people will refuse to engage with core game mechanics and just expect an "I win" button.

2) The "PoE1 veteran" who prides himself on being a "veteran", while having been conditioned to copy someone elses build and pressing 1 button to zoom + oneshot maps for a decade without bothering to understand anything about anything, who now hit a wall after finding out he actually has to think about builds and mechanics and engage with the game mechanics.

Ironically, the "veteran" prides himself on struggling with basic mechanics, while simultaneously getting overly angry and defensive at people mentioning they haven't found the game too difficult, and will then rant about how much money they have dumped into the game.

This is typically the group spending their day on the PoE forum calling everyone who enjoys PoE2 a "tourist", being fully convinced their antagonistic actions are somehow "supporting" the game / studio.

3) People who have, very likely, not even played the game, and are just jumping on the complain train and parroting whatever they saw someone online complain about once, and now they've created a whole group of people who haven't even played the game and are parroting complaints off of each other.

And I don't know if it's just me, but all those "veterans" prouding themselves on how much they "support" the studio (and will always bring up how few supporter packs you have), while actively shittalking both the game and everyone liking the game, very much seem to want the game (and by proxy, the studio) to fail. With "fans" like that who actively create hostility towards the game and those who enjoy it, GGG doesn't need any haters.

Shame.

They will don't worry
they wont - they knew how a certain, obnoxiously conceited part of the poe 1 community would react and made this game anyway :>

Yeah exactly, they wouldn't have made the game if they thought it wouldn't do well. They will definitely tune it but this game is not supposed to be like PoE 1 and I think that's a great thing as someone who wasn't too happy with how the game evolved.

I had much more fun in the old days of PoE 1 when the game was much harder and I think GGG realized they were slowly killing the game but they didn't have much of a choice because they reached the point of no return where the compounding of their decisions fundamentally changed the game too much.

PoE 2 is a clean slate where they can do things the right way this time, and a lot of newer players will definitely be unhappy about it but it is what it is.

Why do you care if they make it easier? Serious, question.

Is your self worth only driven from completing "hard games".

So what if they make the game a bit easier for new people.

Don't like it?
Here is an idea, play with less gear,so you can brag how you did the entire campaign with just a weapon slot item, and your self esteem will be intact.
They don't exist. I've seen very few people frustrated with the "difficulty" of the game and a ton more concerned with the monotony and the fact that it's shallow compared to PoE1

I hope u guys are correct. It would be really sad if they make it easier.
They're a reliable and passionate company, they will make the right decision.
Good

You do realize they made POE1 to be harder than what it is now right? POE1 was supposed to be what ruthless mode is and they backed off of that. By your logic they would not have made POE1 either. They thought the harder difficulty and return to D2 would be a winner. They even fought against the idea of racing to 100, yet they changed their minds when players showed that is actually what they wanted.
