So. i can not defeat Geonor

I tried. 3 different characters. about 60 to 70 times now.
i cant. i am not even getting close. In his 2nd phase he oneshots me, and in all my attempts i havent even gotten close to getting him under 80 percent.
i spent the last day just trying to kill him, again and again and again.

Cant do it. as soon as he does his red circle, i am dead. dodge doest go far enough to get out of it.

So, thats sad. i spend 60 euros on a support package, and i am hardlocked into watching the first act until the end, and then thats it.

I know, i know, skill issue, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it.

Wanna bet i am not the only one with that issue? Think the others will spend another dime in a game they cant progress in? Me neither.

Maybe you need to go back and gear up a bit first. He was challenging but I got him on the first try, and I died 5 times to the bloated miller. I've had other bosses that I died to a couple times and came back to after getting some gear and a couple levels. The devs have stated that was their intended way to play.

Did you read my post?

Not only did i 'go back and gear up'. I created 2 more characters just cause i thought the class i played cant do it.
I went in with Warrior. Couldnt do it at level 20. You dont get xp anymore at level 20 in any zone in act 1.
So i rerolled. Into a Ranger.
Same thing. Went in at 17, and died. went out and leveled and geared up. to level 20. With the same result.
So i rerolled. Again.

Are you seriously telling me that rolling 3 characters, leveling them as high as the game allows, is not enough?
Also, because i know someone will say it: yes, my cold res is at 75%.

Are you kidding me, I had a level 40 help me kill him, and he got his ass chewed twice.........

That is POE1 Pinnacle boss shit right there. I stepped in to act 2, and the very first area boss, I just rage quit.

I'm struggling to believe this. It is tricky the first time you do it, but I and many, many others have managed to do this before level 20.

There are some attacks that do a LOT of damage, but thats why the dodge is there.
I mean either you're doing something wrong or I'm amazing at the game, and I doubt it's the latter. The fight was long but I had a much harder time with that married couple in the mausoleum. Probably died 5 or 6 times between the two of them. A flask that generates charges by itself comes in super clutch for boss fights.
I think I know what the problem is because I have it too. I'm betting in your fights you recognize the upcoming move(s) but don't quite get out of the way in time .. right??

I'm all but convinced the people claiming that the game is too easy [or even fair] have pretty decent information processing speed.

I'm also guessing that the other batch of "bosses too hard && sanctum too hard" are probably on the slower side.

The biggest issue is if they make the game more fair for us everyone else will be bored out of their minds and would want the mechanic dropped because it's "so trivial" for them to succeed that it's no challenge.

He telegraphs that big red circle. Once I recognized the animation, he never hit me with it again. I'm playing a Monk.

It's a new game. No guides, no cookie cutter builds. You have to THINK.

This isn't POE1 with better graphics. That seems to be what all the POE1 players wanted.

So many entitled gamers whining that they aren't getting told they are special and powerful, on day three of a brand new game, that they need to quit before it damages their self esteem.

I'm glad this game is making me work. If I was on end game on day one, screen killing everything, I'd quit by the end of the weekend.

Day three of an early access beta no less.
... or maybe you're better at a whisker better in your situational awareness / processing speed.

Based on the fails with the "ghost and his wife" you're probably a whisker better than me overall while the other person was probably a whisker worse.

Note: I get caught in AoEs too much but just barely and I'll often just barely make it to a safe zone. If I was just a few ticks worse I'd be in the same boat as the other person.

IMHO the problem with the challenging mechanics is that someone that's is just slightly worse can wind up in "impossible" situations will the other person can work their way through it.
