So. i can not defeat Geonor
" I beg to differ ... I suspect that "thinking" has nothing to do with it. It's all about how quickly you process information and react. While I can't speak for others I know that as soon as the red circle of death appears I need to get out ASAP -- no thinking just doing. Still I get tagged at least sometimes but it -- if I get tagged I'm 1-2 steps shy and if I succeed I'm only 1 step on the good side. You process information faster / react faster than I do. You're not thinking -- you're "doing". I'd of course prefer that the difficulty was gated behind something else other than "reaction speed" but the game is what it is and I doubt it's changing. The people with poor reaction speed ... or those that don't like fullfillment based on that just need to find a different game. |

I'm playing a rolling spam warrior so maybe being used to constantly having to dodge roll out of the way of attacks makes it easier to dodge AOE. If you're managing ranged attacks and/or minions it might be harder to keep track of where all the AOE is going off. I legit almost quit after dying over and over to the bloated miller though, I literally had to go back and regrind the starting area for another level and more gear. Then as soon as I got to my stash and equipped a 61% increased damage hammer the game suddenly got a lot easier. Gear can make a huge difference, especially your weapon.

" So you are telling me that you are a better gamer than me, and that somehow being able to press dodge 200 times per minute and still atacking makes you 'think more' than i do. And that i am an entitled gamer because i spend the last day, 8 hours of my limited lifetime, trying to figure out how to progress in a game i spend 60 Euros on (not to mention the money in spend in POE1 before), and that i am not happy that i cant progress in said game. Did you ever think about the fact that people who are not as awesome as you also have right to enjoy the stuff they pay for? Last edited by NewLanatir#0574 on Dec 8, 2024, 11:38:27 PM

You're doing something very wrong, I just watched my friend kill him in under 10 attempts and he has never played PoE or any other aRPG before. Cold resistance, and having enough HP to survive any failed dodges will help. And use your currency, check the vendors every time you level as their gear rotates, having a good weapon makes a massive difference.

While I think my problem is mostly with reaction speed getting a good weapon cut my deaths by more than 50% so that's not to be ignored.
Circling back to that I agree that the game's RNG works against player satisfaction if they don't get a good weapon. To help provide a "somewhat workable" floor on gearing adding back in the equivalent of a crafting bench and some basic vendor recipes wouldn't hurt. While I already uninstalled getting a decent rare base and getting lucky on exalts made a massive difference by covering up deficiencies in my own gameplay. |

" This reads like "I want a win button". No. | |
" Getting cold resistance isn't necessarily easy. If I recall properly I don't think I ever got a sapphire ring and I had to use every "cold" rune and even "junk" items that I happened to save that had any cold res on them at all. Even then I think I only had 30% cold res or something [could have gotten 75% fire] The more I think of it the more I believe that [lower powered] uses of the crafting bench and/or vendor recipes should make a return so that a floor on player power could be anticipated. |

" If it matters I'm pretty sure he thinks you're calling him stupid and that's why he's upset [I.E. not thinking or can't think]. On the other hand I called him slow [worse reaction time] which I think is contributing -- note I think that's the source of my problems too. |

Main reason I havn't made another character is the fact i would need to reclear the bosses. odds are ill play 1 league and wash my hands of this game with this level of difficulty. its not fun.

" Nope, no problem with what you are saying, because i pretty much agree. What i dont agree with is people who think they are better than me somehow because they can press a button faster WITHOUT thinking. Its hilarious that people who rely purely on their instincts calling it thinking. And i somehow have the distinct feeling, reading their posts, that when it comes to 'thinking', they are not really the ones that should open their mouths. |
