Dark Souls

I really wish that devs would stop using the term "souls-like" to excuse their game being a boring, unbalanced slog fest and call it difficult without even scratching the surface of what made the difficulty in the souls games fun.

GGG made POE2 to make money. is it really that hard to understand?

Wrong. GGG will make money anyway, they made PoE 2 for themselves. It's like an artist painting a picture, Chris Wilson had a perfect successor of Diablo 2 in his mind and vision, and this is why PoE 2 exists. I don't think they care much about money, that's not even an issue when Tencent is funding GGG.

The ones who have things to understand are those saying PoE2 wasn't made for PoE1 players ...

PoE 2 was made for people to play. That's the closest from the truth we'll ever get. That being said, if we can't find a middle ground then let's sit back and watch it unfold :|

POE1 was to be the perfect successor to the D2 and made as a passion project for themselves as per the devs own statements. Turns out people didn't like the difficulty and thus they changed it. Same is likely to happen here as while GGG makes plenty through POE1, it will be a hard sell to keep a second live service going that doesn't pull in the cash desired.

Listen to Jonathan's and Chris Wilson's interviews and you'll see how wrong you are. Even a year ago we knew that PoE 2 isn't for PoE 1 players.

Anyway I hope they don't listen to a bunch of salty PoE 1 players and ruin the experience.

Quite the opposite, PoE 1 became a terrible game over the years because they listened to the players instead of doing their own thing. They won't make the same mistake again.

Firewalk studio made Concord, they had Sony behind, what happened after?

If GGG is no longer valuable for tencent. they will just shut it down, just like all other tencent studios and games got shut down in the past few years. They are business, not charity. GGG made mtx for people to PAY.

The fact that most of PoE 1 players are crying on the forums and the subreddit invalidates your opinion. They just want to make a good game and people will play it anyway. If they wanted to make the most money, they would make a game most PoE 1 players would be interested in. Of course they made the game to make money, but money is clearly not their highest priority.
