And advocating for change is very healthy. You consider it regression, but most of the time questioning oneself (game mechanics in this case) is the root of any improvement. I'm pretty sure any QOL change made by GGG started with them questioning their own design.

I agree and nowhere in my reply did I said that advocating is bad, I was referring to the topic that is being advocated and nowhere in my other reply that I implied that I am against what you are advocating. I just gave my thoughts about what is on my mind and that may seem or imply that I am against it.

Fair enough :)

One question that I would like to ask is, why would you try a boss when you have experience to lose? If this was a map boss then just ignore my question.

I don't try bosses when I have experience to lose and that's where my opinion is coming from. It takes quite some time for me to do one level after lvl 95, because I don't juice density like crazy and I don't go too much into rippy stuff (aka T17 and 8 affixes corrupted T16). So i'm here seating at 30% xp and be like: "do i do bosses now and sacrifice these 30% xp, or do i keep mapping in a relatively safe way and do my bosses in 7-10 days when i pass my level". And there is my opinion, the fact that i'm asking myself tgis question feels no really.

Then again if you blast through a level in 2 days, I guess my opinion feels stupid, I can accept it.

To give you a comparison point, it took you 2 weeks to go 36/40 + level 100. It took me 2 months to 36/40 + lvl 99.

What % of player am I representing. If i'm 1%, then no doubt it will not be changed, and doesn't need to be.

Its not stupid and is a valid way to play. Sadly in those situation, you are really limited in what you can do. I really hope you find a way out of this predicament.
Yeah its exactly because of this weird forced gameplay of "Oh I need to wait to level up before trying bosses or I will lose my 40-50-60% exp" that I hate the exp loss on death. It just makes you play in this weird way and avoid all endgame bosses until you've leveled up and that sucks.
they could remove xp loss and gains from all bosses to be honest.
It is good for design, There's no debating this part imo.

The problem here is that the needs of the playerbase have shifted both due to many players becoming adults constraining their time as well as cultural influences additionally the style of games released in the last 10 years alone the market has shifted away from games like this.

The only real solution without directly cutting into that original experience is to create an easy-mode.

The downside to easy-mode is that it will drain a good number of people from the standard-challenge leagues dividing us further and for many reasons a number of users are against this with a passion.

It would be nice to see a solution happen at some point to heal the divide between numerous player types as really in the grand scheme of things we are brothers and sisters in a cruel world not enemies.

Innocence forgives you
