Feels like a scumbag moment from GGG
If you Feel them giving free early access as a bonus to buying $30 worth of cosmetic points is scummy I don't know what to tell you.
This company is far from scummy, they give those of us who have supported them over the years a free key, those who haven't lifetime supported them can buy $30 worth of cosmetic points and get a key. Why are you even here if you see this as an issue? It's really the silliest thing I have ever seen anyone complain about lol |

" And I LOVE that they are taking advantage of our urgency to play. Blessed be GGG for offering such a great game at such a low price and meeting our needs with a quality product. I hope GGG can take even more advantage of us. They deserve it. |

"BG3 also cost more than POE (RN at 20% off its USD 47.99, its not exactly the same category as POE but they were certainly able to deliver. You also mentioned its the only company you respect. I think its important to think hard on that
Spoiler
The reason seems to me like there are just not many companies like them around who have not monetised the crap out of their game

Op has a point. I can’t say I agree or disagree with it. The point is valid though.

It isn't about the money to me either. That's why I said their messaging has been clear to me since 2011. When GGG say something, they mean it.
People have discounted the argument that it's an Early Access game and have said 'these days EA means realease'. Sorry that's bull, you assuming that does not make you correct. GGG said exactly what it is, and exactly what is happening on full release, you as a playercan do with that what you will. It now just becomes a basic value proposition of whether its worth it or not to you. |

" Yep, you are full of shit. Baldur's Gate 3 had EA and it was good but it wasn't as good as it is now. PoE is free to play to the extent that by the time you need stash tabs, you'd already spent close to maybe more than hundred hours on it and might as well pay 40-60 bucks to get the most out of it. Anything more is people wanting to support the game and looking "cool" with mtx. "HoW DAre A f2P gaME mAKeS MONey!" If people don't want to pay for a closed-beta/early access, then they will wait for full release. Game will be free when it releases. You believing EA is release, doesn't make it so. |

Disagree.
A true scumbag moment would be to not charge for early access, and to instead make money 3 months later by RELEASING HUNDREDS OF INDIVIDUAL SHARDS that MUST be collected in full before engaging in endgame content. Requireing us to buy stash tabs to organize all the bloat. I'd rather have 25% less total clutter in my stash during a later league because GGG got a fat chunk of the cash they needed from EA donations. think about how much the 'whales' did for development early on. because some whales donated tens of thousands of usd we got away with fewer 'forced upon us' stash tabs. the fewer stash tabs forced upon us the better. less bloat in poe2 please. |

i feel the same.i've been here for a while and supported GGG with money at my best of my ability even living in Brazil. But apparently i didn't spend enough to participate on EA.

Nothing in life is free.
Sure, people might see it as their god given right to participate in an early access game, but it doesn't make it a fact. EA costs a small sum, and as far as I know, GGG never promised a free EA. You can disagree with the decision, and that would be totally OK. But it's far from a "scumbag moment". The regional pricing debacle sucks, I agree, and it makes the participation way more expensive (relatively) for a lot of people. I don't know how much GGG is involved in this, but it's sad nonetheless. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.
