What is the point of +% Light Radius and Reduced Attribute Requirements!?

You guys will all be eating crow when new zones in the future have low visibility. I'm certain that is why they are implementing this stat. I highly recommend getting a radius set going because when these new zones are implemented the prices for good radius items will be through the roof.

hippster allert! ring the bells!

just like in D3 when everyone started to stack orb pickupradius for pvp. oh wait... noone actually did

I stacked pickup radius for PvE in D3 and it was quite overpowered and broken.

I know this because I was a top 20 DH in hardcore.

But yeah, light radius is decidedly...less useful...

Then GGG should tell us that.

I mean, from a business standpoint, this decision is UNBELIEVABLY obvious.

Option 1. Implement light radius and say nothing about it. People get pissed off because it's increased the mod pool, makes it harder to craft, and gives a higher chance of getting shitty exalts because of the seeming uselessness. It also still sucks on low life builds and doesn't help them like it should.

Option 2. Implement light radius and tell us about some awesome new area with low visibility that you're planning, and give us a little screenshot showing off how effective light radius is in the new area.
People start getting excited about the new area, and start considering things like crafting second sets of rings or amulets for dark areas, and start speculating about how the darkness might be used in interesting ways.

I don't care about crafting, because as long as retard items like koam's heart and lioneye exist, there is 0 reason to RNG your stash for a inferior piece of gear.

I will however add that:

1. Light radius does NOTHING to low life build. If you cant see shit in a dark map like the dungeon, you still can't see shit with light radius. Please don't try to justify a useless mod.

2. Lack of sight with low life build is a bug, as confirmed by a GGG dev on one of the reddit thread. It will be fixed in the future, whenever that will be.

3. Most ironic point of all. You get MUCH better light radius by turning off shadows and turning up the brightness of your LCD then you will ever do with light radius mod.

reduced requirements would be a nice mod if it also reduced the requrements of gems socketed in the item. I'm using gems that are int only, str only and dex only, and dont have that 100 stat amulet so need to invest in several +20/30 dex nodes in the witch/templar area.

that's actually a fucking amazing idea.

to make it harder to get wanted mods? to waste mod slots? to piss people off?

We have a winner!!

i hate the new mods too and i really hope ggg think about it and delete this change
While I totally agree with introducing new mod to dilute the perfect gear rolls. I am highly disappointed when the mod introduced have no interest whatsoever for ANY build out there (I mean end game builds, not low level PVP or leveling)

light radius: to the OP, not only it does not help for low life build (tested), but the low life vision is not working as intended and should be corrected to take the max life after aura reservation

lower requirement: useless mod ever for end game build, just a shit affix that devaluate the cost of exalted, wait, is it why they where introduced ???

The point is there are so many mods that are shit to some build and perfect for others in the suggestion forum, that I am highly disappointed on this change. And I don't like being disappointed.
