What is the point of +% Light Radius and Reduced Attribute Requirements!?

I always wanted light radious affix, simply because I hate dark maps.

But I understand, for many this kind of affix just affect negatively.

Also reduced attribute req is the mod sometimes I wanted, but definitely not for end game contents, for the moment.

How about adding "Reduced Gore" affix to have more female players?

only a little joke
Instead of reduced attribute, it should have been a combined reduced attribute and level requirement. This way one can develop a set of gear that makes leveling alts a rofl-stomp. Getting a set of good, ridiculous reduced level gear in "that other game" made the process of leveling to 60 with 5 characters entertaining. There were times, for example, where I was using their equivalent of leap-slam (how quickly I forget) to kill entire screen fulls of mobs. That was a giggle. Had their been 10 classes, I'd have done them all.

Obviously you get to the final difficulty and have to get into serious gear, but there are a lot of possible alts in this particular game, and it would surely be nice to have a way to get the early parts of one's builds as over with as quickly as possible.

p.s., and yes I know there are some good uniques for this already; more, please!

light radius is obvious i think, so you can see farther in dark areas. reduced requirement? well how bout some low level twink PvP!!! come on people use your imagination!

not everything has to be about min\maxing you know. some people still like to have fun in these games and play around with this stuff end game be damned!

"Hey guys i am mad its slightly harder to get better mods to do the same content i can already beat!!!" sometimes I pity these types of players its like they reach a certain point in a game like this and they are incapable of having fun instead all they worry about progressing and getting stronger for content that doesn't exist yet.

its okay i will make a shining god with over 9000 light radius and lead you and your brethren from this dark horrible state of mind into one were you can actually enjoy the game.
I am guessing they will implement VERY dark Maps in the future, maybe even a Unique Map that is PITCH BLACK infested with Grues.

The Darker it gets, the more damage the enemies do.

That's where the Light-Radius Items "SHINE" :D

These affixes make me sad. I was beginning to think this game was becoming much more than just a Diablo clone until these pointless properties were introduced. Unless someone can assure me these properties are useful, I would like to start a petition to have them removed. Let's hear what people have to say!

How dare you call a game a diablo clone when you obviously never played diablo 2. Shame on you
I think if they wanted to add mods that were there just to "dilute the pool" they could do much better and add mods that are actually useful to more than a select few builds. These types of build-specific mods belong on uniques, or be very rare (which isn't the case, I seem to find these on everything now which is a bit depressing).

Here's some examples of "useful" mods they could use instead which would, as has been stated, extend the life of the game and provide more options to players:

- Reduce damage by x%
- % chance for killing blow
- % chance to dodge/dodge spells (like the keystone passives)
- raise the level of all equipped gems by x (not just the ones in the item)
- % shield leech / flat shield leech
- + flat xp / % xp
- absorb elemental damage
- + max resists

Players who like low life builds were complaining for a long time about the inability to see anything in caves and dungeons. GGG responded to these complaints by adding the light radius mods.

As someone who runs a low life build, I can say the light radius mods do absolutely nothing to help the problem.

Low amounts will seem useless because it uses the radius to increase it, not the area.It would get exponentially beneficial as you add more.

Diablo 2? you mean that game I spent hundreds of hours on and does in fact include light radius and lower req. affixes? Nope. never heard of it...

Anyways, it seems most everyone was disappointed to see these properties implemented. I'm starting to warm up to the idea of making these properties useful instead of removing them altogether.

Thank you GGG for ruining end game items for one specific build in the game.....

Case in point? As I identified this wand and started reading, I was thinking oh this is nice!!! oh Wait.......NVM

I don't do maps to loot items that lower level people can use. I do end game maps for the quality items....

Oh wait, trolled again.

Because all level 70+ maps should be dropping this crap, but as long as low life builds can see better, all is well in the world.
You guys will all be eating crow when new zones in the future have low visibility. I'm certain that is why they are implementing this stat. I highly recommend getting a radius set going because when these new zones are implemented the prices for good radius items will be through the roof.
