Life leech helps but it depends what build you play.Since he is playing ranger and rangers have no damage then it wont help him much but every little bit of life leech helps,newbie.

3000 hp is still low for maps.

I think the recommended base has always been at least 4k minimum with most builds that obviously aren't CI based, before maps.

Also, map bosses that can be cursed and 2 shot a character with a ranged AOE should always have Enfeeble cast on them.

Always. If you don't have room for Enfeeble at least in a spare socket, then something is very wrong.

Well PoE end game was never supposed to be relaxing. I think GGG intended for PoE at high levels of play to be more about competition (ladder ranking) than relaxation.

PoE is never relaxing to play when you have roahs,charging soldiers,roling golems,chaos damage throwers and what not in the map.

I run high level maps with only 2.2k life, ranger split arrow build. Haven't died in 2+ weeks, average 1-2 hrs gametime / day. Level 81.

Believe me when I say I fully support and enjoy a difficult endgame. I've been sitting on my ass in front of a computer screen for too long to be satisfied by anything less.

But yet again that's not the point. I don't understand why Steelpoint's damage is so much insanely higher than any other 67 maps' boss. I would think that on the basis of good game design, a character should not be able to steamroll any other 67 map but gets two-shotted on ONE PARTICULAR 67 map with ZERO signs or warnings (no auras, no indication of shit high extra damage).

At 3K life, that can be dangerous to do. See, he's around this corner, and you can't get a bead on him, but he can easily RoA you as you come around that corner. He has to be the damndest map boss for 67 maps.

I don't particularly like him, either, and do think it's kinda inconsistent with the various other maps choices. Kinda like Brutus on 66's. The way around it is to party up and let the meat shields do their work.

One may need to acknowledge that one can't solo every map in the set of maps available at your level.

And in the case for Brutus you at least have time to react to his Period Attack.

Also it's a melee attack instead of a ranged one.

Decoy totem will help if you are a ranger.
