10k armor, 3k health, max resists, Steelpoint two-shots me with his RoA
|
Did he get a stealth buff?
EDIT: My main point (other than to vent my utter disbelief at what happened) is that I really don't think it's good game design. Note that I'm not crying for across the board nerfs of all map bosses because I think they are difficult. Believe me when I say I fully support and enjoy a difficult endgame. I've been sitting on my ass in front of a computer screen for too long to be satisfied by anything less. Simply put, I don't understand why Steelpoint's damage is so much insanely higher than any other 67 map's boss. I would think that on the basis of good game design, a character should not be able to steamroll any other 67 map but gets two-shotted on ONE PARTICULAR 67 map with ZERO signs or warnings (no auras, no indication of shit high extra damage). He was always this strong. You may have also taken a crit though... with 10k armor I think he would take 3 hits.

I never remembered Steelpoint being able to two-shot my ranger.
And she has worse gear than my Cleaver has now. Last edited by elitedesolator#6827 on Apr 20, 2013, 9:30:15 AM

3k health, lol
And 10k armour isn't that impressive either. Did you at least granite up? (rhetorical question) IGN: NuzzyFipples

" What am I supposed to do? Farm Docks until I'm level 80 with full + health + resists gear and then do a level 67 map? I've cleared 10 other 67s with ease before dying to Steelpoint. Last edited by elitedesolator#6827 on Apr 20, 2013, 9:34:37 AM

You need health not armor.I facetank everything with my 1.700 armor and 4.700 health.Life leech is very important and dont forget to use enfeeble/temporal chains for dangerous monsters.

3k health is just really low.
Edit: and use enfeeble on bosses until you have better gear IGN: NuzzyFipples Last edited by EchoMending#6899 on Apr 20, 2013, 9:38:59 AM

thats one of the flaws of the game design imho.
even very well geared and 15+ lvl over the map's mobs can in some cases instantly kill you. the game has more frustration moments then rewarding moments. especially on high lvl. and i see a lot of people quitting because of this. playing a game should be fun and relaxing in the first place. if a game eventually becomes frustrating to play people will just avoid it and move along ... and this is lately happening in poe. my 2 cents. " Life leech doesn't do anything against one or two big (consecutive) hits, which is what this thread is about. Derp on. IGN: NuzzyFipples

" I do. Level 17 too. It's just that there was no other boss that literally two shotted me. It's just ridiculous to suddenly have a boss that destroys any reasonably geared melee character to just pop out. Case in point I (and any other character at my health level) could take 5 full shots of Bramblemist's Chaos Damage multiple projectiles. |
