People are indeed hellbent on downplaying PoE's customization because it's dependent on crafting, and as we well know, crafting is just garbage as is.
Not really. There are builds out there capable of doing most content by using semi-common uniques and basic rares. The game is also not dependent on crafting for everyone; it can also be dependent on trading, and many games are centered around an economy. It may be a negative for you, but a lot of people like it.
Your bias comes, amongst other things, from your last sentence I quoted. You're not really trying to be impartial when you use "as we well know" to describe your opinions.

Oh, ok. You don't really want to discuss the finer points nor find a solution, you just want to keep being vague and evasive. Fine by me.

I can absolutely discuss the finer points and find solutions. Bring it on, what are we fixing?

D4 sucks right now, I hope they can fix it. The base is there for it to be a good casual alternative.

$70, cash shop and battle pass. "Diablo" will be in one of the many xpacks pd for along with a paladin etc. Straight cash grab.
I cant believe they disabled certain legendarys you current own, never heard to that before.
However ive been playing immortal for 3 weeks and really like it. Best music of any diablo game

Cooldown as mechanic is not bad per se. The way it's implemented into D4 is bad.
I've played Rogue. My char had:
-Shadow Imbuement (medium cooldown)
-Dark Shroud (medium cooldown)
-Dash (long cooldown)
-Puncture (no cooldown)
-Twisting Blades with Daze specialty (Energy consumption aka cooldown)
- Ultimate (very long cooldown) + Dodge (medium cooldown)
Now, your core way of playing revolves around spamming Puncture and Twisting Blades.
-Puncture on it's own as any other basic skill is very underpowered so it's not damage dealer but it has 2 other main functions 1) to proc Vulnerable 2) Improve Energy recovery.
-Twisting Blades, solid damage, interesting mechanic BUT to fully utilize it 1) you have to be very mobile so the blades can sweep across as many monsters
2) don't have problems with Energy (just another way of making skill on cooldown)
Well you don't have either of those two things always available. Your mobility is dogshit because Dash has very long cooldown also Dodge has 7-8s cooldown
Also to be able to effectively clear packs you need Shadow Imbuement which also has cooldown.
This is core gameplay of my Rogue. Just by seeing how many white marked words there are in the post, someone can catch my drift what a mess that gameplay is. Juggling 6 mandatory different skills while being unable to use them when you want and on top of it controls that are made for console and controller (constantly getting stuck with attacking instead of moving the fuck away), is absolutely game breaking experience for me.
It is so bad that main goal with your char is to get enough cooldown reduction everywhere so you can play without cooldowns and prevent possible mental breakdown.
Now if that is my bias towards PoE and not objective analysis of D4 combat then so be it.
ps
I got pissed right now just from explaining what a dumb shit of a combat mechanic they made that if I could i'd refund the game now just because of it.
I'm confused, why make things up? Don't you believe in your points enough to just say them without inflating other points?
Dodge doesn't have a "7-8 second cd". It's 5 seconds. You're for some reason trying to double it, and I guess we're going to ignore that you can get multiple charges, or have the CD be closer to 1 second if you're attacking, or you get a sprint per use ect.
And yes the rogues Dash CAN be considered a long CD, but it's 12 seconds, and it has 2 charges. AND you're playing the cookie cutter Rogue TB build which has built in CD reduction.
I mean, you even purposely lie on other skills cooldowns comparatively. Why do you label your dash, which is 2 charges and a 12s CD, as 'long cooldown', and then label your Shadow Imbuement skill as 'medium cooldown', when it's 13 seconds. It's LONGER then your dash. You even label DS as 'medium', when it's 20s. ?????
This, yall, is what's called bias.

-Shadow Imbuement (14s cooldown)
-Dark Shroud (20s cooldown)
-Dash (12s cooldown)
-Puncture (no cooldown)
-Twisting Blades with Daze specialty (Energy consumption aka cooldown)
- Ultimate (60s cooldown) + Dodge (5s cooldown)
There I fixed it for you. Now it's even more obvious what a garbage combat is.

That's like level 15 though. Once you have some skillpoints, you have enough energy recovery to drop puncture completely and use twisting blades nearly limitlessly, and at the same time, Twisting blades decreases all cooldowns with every use, which in combination with getting CDR on helmet and amulet leads to the build being really spammy.
I mean, if you didn't make it past level 15 and/or never bothered to read the passives on the skill tree, then it's not a good representation of how the game's combat is.

My personal problems with "crafting" in current POE
1) The process is akin to a slot machine. 90% or more of it is spam currency on a base. Be it alts, jewelers, fusings, harvest reforge, essences or fossils. It's incredibly dumb on a fundamental level sitting there for half an hour throwing 1k+ alts at a flask to get the combination you want.
2) Risk vs reward is horribly unbalanced. There is a clear cap on the potential profits, no matter how much currency you've burned in the process, the price you can get for it on the market is capped. The risk meanwhile is infinite. If you are unlucky enough you can waste thousands of fusings/divines whatever on a craft that should only take 10 tries on average.
3) It is pretty much impossible to seriously craft without using trade. You won't find the fractured bases you need yourself, you'll have to buy them. You won't find the dozens and hundreds of divines you need for meta crafts, you'll have to buy them. You won't find the hundreds or thousands of deafening essences you need, you'll need to buy them.
Now try fixing those points without ending up with something that's basically harvest or try to convince me that this design is actually the most fun and engaging form of crafting you've ever encountered in a game to a point where you think it's impossible to improve. Bring it on.
