Ruthless gets a new movement skill (Quickstep)
" Is it compromising or learning? Last league was the Ruthless open beta. While I liked most parts of Ruthless, having no movement skills was one of the points that I thought was a bad idea. Movement skills have always been in the game (at least since open beta) - so even in the days before the zoom zoom playstyle, we had Lightning Warp, Leap Slam and a few others. I can only assume that many players who played the Ruthless beta asked for some sort of movement skill. I'm quite certain that I did. Bird lover of Wraeclast

" That is being generous. It's not like movement skills were removed by accident, nor was the commentary that if an encounter required movement skills they would investigate that, not change course on the development philosophy. So yeah this is definitely a backtrack, and the reason, I suspect, is to try and enhance the appeal of the mode itself. " Not really a qualifier IMO. Most things have "always been in the game" Doesn't mean they belong in Ruthless. Keep adding stuff and it may as well just be the less loot mode. |

" I think that skills that have always been in the game, such as Leap Slam, Whirling Blades and Lightning Warp should have stayed in the game. Pure movement skills, that did NOT exist back in the open beta, should go. That's the only thing bothering me a bit, that they made a whole new movement skill just to put it into Ruthless. However, why would you assume that they got everything right in the first attempt (Ruthless beta)? Bird lover of Wraeclast

Huh, so rather than fix the numerous late game bosses with instakills if you don't dodge, they added a movement skill so you can dodge them.
It does make sense if they're trying to get ruthless to work while putting minimal investment in it; as adding a single skill that relies on existing functionality is a lot less work than making a proper fix for this ruthless specific issue. Too many of the bosses were designed to require active dodging with movement skills. |

It's a very limited and pure boss movement skill for flat arenas with that long cooldown and downsides. Not gonna replace normal movement skills like dash, etc.
Can't cross ledges, rivers and can't espace from being body blocked by enemies, unless phasing. She hands you a rusty-looking device called the Blood Crucible and urges you to implant it into your body." Only usable with Ethanol Flasks Last edited by gandhar0#5532 on Apr 6, 2023, 2:47:54 PM
