The removal of ALL aura specific mastery reservation nodes ruined the league for me
same, my build was not op or anything but reliable league to league, it took a hit in dps/resistance/auras and its gear set was already so tight, so rip my favourite build and seeing the patch notes theres nothing "new" to create unless you got a 300 iq head that can wrap around all this overcomplicated mess of a game. Big F this patch.

lol all the whining! We went through the same thing when they first removed all the reservation nodes and things from clusters/tree/etc. We went through the same thing when they introduced efficiency. Everything always works out fine. Maybe instead of 5 auras, you run 4. Maybe it requires a few extra points/nodes/etc to reach the same point. But its all happened before. This is quite literally a repeat nerf, that they already carried out less than 10 leagues ago, with VERY little downside since they then add the 12% global....it's just another case of GGG setting a double standard for themselves. "Aura stacking is too powerful, let's nerf aura reservation....but oh lets then add masteries that allow aura stacking again! Oh, but then aura stacking is too powerful..." etc.
TBH, while I abused this all the time, builds really shouldn't be able to run tons of auras. I personally think the game should limit you to 1 aura of each reservation cost: 1 50%, 1 35%, 1 25%, 1 10%, 1 flat. Period. I'd be okay with even less than that, 2 auras total (not counting heralds). Builds can function perfectly well without stacking every aura under the sun, you just might have to tweak how you actually play the game (don't run headfirst into every single encounter). I bet there's also going to be reservation nodes in the weapon trees too, completely nullifying any negatives of losing these masteries because...that's what GGG does time and time again. But the other thing is that i am questioning GGGs sanity at this point. When they removed the 15% reservation node their reasoning was that they don't want all purpose nodes like that that everyone will pick. Fine, i can understand that, i agree even but now what? They removed the nodes that weren't all purpose and replace them again with an all purpose node? Like wth? |

^this is true of almost every single change GGG has ever made in the game. They do one thing, then introduce something antithetical to that change, then REintroduce the same original change. That has been their modus operandi for years. They have a vision of what the game should be, but they have absolutely no plan as to how to get there and seemingly nobody smart enough to create solutions that last longer than 1, maybe 2 leagues.

I think the bigger problem here is slippery slope. We started with 15% generic plus all of these specific ones. Then we got the 15 lopped off but hey we kept the specific ones. Next we lost all the specific ones and got back a generic 12.
So what happens from here? Well the natural progression is we'll lose the 12 in a later league and maybe get back nerfed versions of the specific ones we had (since the original versions clearly were deemed OP). And then even later, we'll lose those and maybe a 10% generic? Why not just admit that aura reservation notables/masteries of any kind are too strong and just rip the bandaid off already? |

" Probably scared to ruin their retention numbers by doing such a massive nerf again so they do it slowly. Btw, i've adjusted most of my builds to the tree changes now in POB, as to be expected it was nerfs for every single one of them. Nothing big, just a few million dps here and there, nothing i'd even notice while playing but still, every single build is now weaker than he was before, again. So much for power creep.. I would honestly prefer if they got rid of all of this reservation business and go 1 offensive, 1 defensive, and 1 banner limit. Treat it like curses where you can get stuff similar to Whispers of Doom if you want more auras than that.

Can't believe people are still complaining about this. There are so many ways to replace those 2 masteries -
1. Cluster jewels 2. Crucible passives 3. New mana mastery (assuming you were running other auras besides grace/determ this will make overall reservation better since it works on ALL auras) 4. Helmet enchants |
