well D4 was a dissapointment why delay league becuz of it?

Played it and as expected fluid combat but everything else same as d3 you will probably end up spamming dungeons and world bosses and thats it thats what you gonna do in d4 for the next 10 years i dont understand why GGG is afraid and is delaying league due to d4 beta

they delayed it last league as well. maybe they just cant keep up with the 3 months cycles anymore

The post from GGG said they delayed to make sure everything timed correctly with ExileCon.

Are they afraid? Who knows. But it also buys them some extra time to work on 3.21 and prepare for Exilecon, which surely needs alot of prep.

Regardless of how you feel about Diablo 4, alot of poe players will very likely play some Diablo 4 on release.

The currently planned release shedule seems very good. Dodged both Diablo 4 betas, 3.20 reveal when nothing else is happening, 2 full months of poe goodness which is more than enough PoE for most. 1-2 months of Diablo 4, probably enough to gauge the direction of the endgame. Then Exilecon when the honeymoon phase for Diablo 4 is in decline.

act 1 of an older diablo 4 build was a disappointment.

maybe the end game is a hit, who knows.

D4 wont hurt PoE one bit. It so damn boring and a huge disappointment.

when did they keep up exactly?

It's not like GGG could have known D4 was going to be bad. It's more because the attention D4 would get from streamers and people in general. It actually received a lot of attention so probably GGG did the right thing.

D4s pre order and chicken sandwich first weekend beta had multiple times more people get to level 20 then PoE has ever had at any launch. And we don't even know how many more played the free weekend.

Numbers aren't everything when to comes to what game is good, but for GGG revenue numbers ARE everything at league launch. They'd be looking at an entire quarter of their year destroyed if they launched head to head against D4, thus the launch date change.
