I dont know why the whole Diablo vs POE thing exists.

PoE and its' 90s gaming enjoyers... Relishing at the chance to identify rares, and it's so complex I tell you.

If you wonder why no game can ever compete with PoE, that's because no other game is stuck forever in the 90s 'vision'.

Diablo IV was never meant to be deep and is never going to be deep based on the market they are aiming for, the casual ARPG players. It was never designed as a POE killer and that is fine. Its the fact that we shelled out money for it that feels bad and compels us to come here and say D4 is crap, blizzard got the better of us, we paid for a game we wont like and probably never will like.

It's hard to say until the full game it out and seen. Based purely on the information available, I do think the smart money is on it being relatively shallow compared to POE, and that's probably on purpose. That's the target audience. They know their cash cow and they make a fortune off of knowing their market space.

Good for them on the revenue front. Good for the players looking for that experience. Good for POE because it will pull those players who want to change POE to be much easier.

This feels like a win for all parties.

This alredy explained it, everything else is derivations of this, and therefore, unneeded. Which is why i'm baffled by "reviews" repeating this same concept in different ways just to arrive at "it's not PoE so i don't like it". Yes, people here should be glad Diablo4 will pull the casual away from PoE, because then PoE won't be dumbdowned and remain a superior game... Or maybe after seeing losing so many 'casuals' GGG will turn their tail and somehow actually try to dumbdown PoE2 to lure the 'casuals' back. It happened before during the 3.9-3.13 era. It may happen again.

You are correct on most points though. Blizzard games are not complex. And in Diablo4 case it was intentional. Diablo4 will dominate the console platform since there's simply no competition. That's alot of money if you ask me. PoE, thanks to its complexity, will remain on PC for the most part. Can't imagine navigating through all that inventories, loots, trading on a console and still have fun.

PoE2 and Diablo4 are not direct competitors. It's like Kindle and iPad.

Having played several thousands of hours, that's the conclusion i get from PoE now; new league, farm mindlessly, rng craft, farm bosses mindlessly, repeat. Having to do it slower and longer is hardly more enjoyable. If you think THAT's a lie... This is truly going nowhere.

A lot of people dont read reviews and rather play for themselves to find out. The "reviews" thus far from POE players are honest feeling from playing the game. And despite this leaving a bad taste in my mouth, I will still continue to preorder.

One last thing, Blizzard can do with diablo can do whatever they like. If they want auras then they should do it if they dont want it they shouldnt do it. As I said ti is just venting because they didnt like the game.
