What is the point playing PoE?

I always wondering. What is the point playing PoE when you already kill all pinnacle bosses and mixmaxed your build? I see streamers still playing, but the end with all content in the game, having 100+ divines and minmaxed their build. So whats the point to play afterwards?

People have different goals than others.

Sometimes people just want to play for fun as well.
I am one of those people who (after 10.5 years) still play for fun.
~ Please separate the PoE1 and PoE2 forums.
It could be just me, be I feel like there's just something inherently fun about POE's gameplay. The combination of fast-past combat, picking up rewarding shiny stuff and accumulation your wealth just hits the right dopamine notes? Even if there is no 'bigger' goal.

Also if you min-maxed one build, you could always go for another one. Even Mathil manages to keep it fresh for himself through different builds despite playing the game as a job.
Yes, this is somehow true. My hope was that the pinnacle bosses where a reason to continue playing but these fights are very badly designed. The maven fight is a bit fun. In general the loot of the pinnacle bosses is terrible and it is better to sell the invitations. What a bad design.
Uber bosses are not my thing.

At the end maps are fun until your character fits your playstyle.

To continue playing there must be more than just monster explosions.

An additional character would cost a lot of extra time.

But every three month it is a nice journey.
Streamers play either as a job (Mathil) or to use PoE as sort of mathematical playground and mess around with mechanics that are fun for them (CaptLance).

They use the content just to test out builds and concepts, not because they just feel the need to fight Eater a 500th time.

The right answer.

But for streamers because it's their job.
We tested it extensively
Some people just enjoy the game that much and play it as their main game.
The game changed much during the past leagues so it's hard to compare the experience these days with the experience of the past. Even if you end up with the same builds over and over again.

Another factor is the lack of other good arpgs like Poe.
There are a few out there but they just don't offer as much as Poe in many ways.
Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.

Different people will have different reasons. Maybe they want to farm the bosses rather than just beat them, do challenges, try different builds, challenge themselves in some way.

Of course you don't have to force yourself to find a reason to play. I got burnt out this league but there would be plenty of reasons to keep playing if I wanted to.
I actually enjoy running a new character through the campaign, different build and all that. I'll play maps, but they lack a certain focused goal flavor that the campaign provides. =^[.]^=
