Anyone else finding the economy kind of screwed at the moment?

Yes, the economy is kind of weird this league, but I swear to god, if I read another time that people have bad loot drops I burn something.

Like, if you are hoping for random drops and count that as your only way of gaining currency then u simply haven't understood so far how to play the game from an economic standpoint.

So far I have made roughly 120 divines this league if I count all my small mistakes and the things I got in the bank + in my char. That is far less than what I've made in the past, but it's still a sum that lets you play the game very comfortably. Main reason for this is that I swapped chars like candy this league rather than farm properly.

In the last blastcast podcast knowledgeable streamers were in agreement, that mapping is probably in one of the best states the game has ever had period, only needs slight improvements for giga juicing.

The main reason this leagues eco is a bit unbalanced stems from the fact that bossing got nerfed by a bunch. No guardians aid, no height of hubris, no inc. Drop chance for forbidden jewels are the main reasons.
The first two lead to higher prices for maven and uber elder, making good watchers eyes and good awk. gems more expensive.
The latter leads to way less people farming especially searing invitations, leading to a tremendous scarcity of forbidden flame. Take the 250/1 chaos-divine ratio with it and people that farm their currency via chaos feel they can't progress.

The truth of the matter is though, and has always been, there is plenty of stuff u can farm. Just take shaper for example. Formed invitations, while losing 50% profitability thanks to aforementioned changes, is still worth it cause market prices for shaper fragments adapted. Clear 4 maps, run invitations, u get around half a divine profit. Then run all the shapers and sell the fragments in bulk, which are 115c per fragment. U can clear shaper in 5min,which means JUST running shaper could net u 1380c on top of the half divine u made by the invitation-cycle. Where is the problem?

Heist, Essences, Juiced Harbingers, Juiced Harvest, Legion, Breach into Hidden, altar spamming, Delirious Maps, Simu Farming, Aisling/Betrayal Services... I could go on and on, all of those strategies hold a lot of value. If u can't farm money in PoE it is 100% on you, no matter how screwed the economy is.

Imagine if crafting in this game wasn't casino worthy of meme's and you could actually find your end game gear and not have to craft it

Just how the game works fine since years. The endgame stuff will never be a freebie thing. Shocking for casual players eh?
Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.

Damn, the complainers just got told.
The main issue that seems to get overlooked is that people complain when the goal posts have moved on them. They don't suddenly get worse at the game, they don't forget how to spam an action skill, but the game itself has shifted the carrot onto a longer pole and more and more players are finding it out of reach. That's why people complain.

It's quite obvious there's a group of players that love playing the economy, trading is a glorious thing to them and is profitable. But it's arrogant to dismiss the concerns from others that things are not alright on the other side of the fence. Those that like to play a straight forward ARPG actually do have a legitimate gripe, no matter how some might want to dismiss it.

If GGG gave me a choice right now to play the game in its current state, or back when there were only three difficulties of three acts, I'd choose the three acts every day. The power gap between poor and wealthy players was much closer back then and you could actually play with gear you found.

It's not possible with the game in its current state for everyone to enact a wealth plan and easily acquire the currency they need, because inflation will just push the price of items further away. There is simply insufficient Exalts and Divines that drop per player for this not to be the case.

Who talks about playing the economy? You don't need to do such a thing, just play the game and sell the good stuff you get. Its that simple and has been for years.

So PoE's team shouldn't focus on dealing with the bots but instead make running them more profitable via drop increases?

If people can make their own gear easily, prices will plummet. Prices also go down when there is more currency available. Same reason rmt prices go down as the league goes on, or if you look at standard you can see everything is worth almost nothing in terms of rmt.

By making the game more accessible, you make rmt worth allot less.

I am not sure what "make their own gear" means. Uniques are a thing and currently of vital importance for many builds. Introducing more currency without doing anything else will simply make them more expensive. Which serves bots and nobody else.

Very few uniques are worth more than 10div. I would say keep Mage / HH rare and increase the drops of everything else. People being able to play multiple builds per league is a good thing, it keeps people engaged.

Then explain the price of divines in Standard vs League. Why can I get 1 divine in Sanctum for .40 and 100 divine in Standard for the same price? It is because of the difference in availability.

This sounds so boring though. Currency dropping like candy, having only 2 chase uniques - sounds like something you can play for a week then discard.

I mean, that is what already happens. People play new league for two weeks and quit. The only difference is that people might play a second character and play more if they could progress their characters easier. But who wants to play a second class in a league when everythinging is so cost prohibitive and leveling is so boring
