Regarding the Kingmaker, it's more expensive this league due to two reasons:

1) They buffed Soul Taker - and made it much rarer.
2) Kingmaker is used by a streamer showcasing a very popular SRS build.

economy? The entire game is pretty screwed right now........

They nerf skills like fucking crazy yet they buff the most overpowered easy to use skill in the game seismic trap.... this and Archnemesis renaming makes it pretty obvious there is some serious issues at the moment, i think they focus on POE 2 and really dont care anymore honestly. I mean look at the league mechanic a re-skinned less rewarding heist mixed with hades knockoff.

They make the grind for a build to feel good worse every league. It's intended.

PoE is the trickle down economic model of gaming.

if you are one of the few who knows how to reliably generate currency you can buy almost anything and make a 1-shot everything in a t16 map build.

but if you are not, then getting the gear you need is becoming more difficult, at least that's my experience.

the content is definitely harder. rare combos in high tier reds have become very difficult. it's no longer good enough to "do the right thing".

Well it is good enough to do the right thing IF you pick the right build, but if you pick the wrong build to start, and you don't have time to reroll, you're done.

Heist can also make you good currency, even level 68 tunnel and repository blueprint can award secondary regrading lenses(I got 2 in 5 unusual gem blueprints), some other alternate gems also have high value(use poe ninja).

Note that heist is only profitable if you don't die, you make more divines surviving in lower level ones than failing in higher level ones.

Soul Taker has always been extremely rare. Now it is just usable.
