You can make all the arguments you want about consistency but that's a separate issue. GGG can choose to ban or not ban whoever they want, that's also part of the ToS.

Stop this please. You don't have any idea what legal weight Terms of Services have regarding any law on this planet. You can write anything in your ToS, BUT: whenever your ToS contradicts fundamental rights, these parts of ToS are not valid. It's GOOD to be that way.

So, you can deliver all the feelz you have here in this posting to express you find this unfair and brutal. But it's the way it is. A ranting twitcher is not touched by any company's ToS. There could be contracts involved between the twitcher and the company that could be violated. BUT THERE IS NO WAY TO VIOLATE A COMPANY'S TOS BY PLACING AN OPINION TO A PUBLIC AUDIENCE OUTSIDE THE SERVICE AREA. Read this. Read it again. And stop writing feelz about it.

Edit:
You're even wrong with your 'they can ban who they want' bs. You cannot refuse services to a customer because he's not your opinion. Or voting the same party. Or eating the same food. You're completely on the rainbowed unicorn side of law, if you REALLY think this.

When that ranting breaks other laws, a customer's "opinion" ceases to be "opinion". You speak on "Fundamental Rights" but Free speech is not unlimited and is actually restricted by other laws, like restrictions on hate speech and slander in the public domain. So naw bro...you just wrong and im done explaining it.

A lot of people who excuse PoM either don't know what he actually said or are toxic themselves. He said language that is, since we are not in 1950 anymore, not acceptable when describing people who provide a service that you use. Its not even acceptable use it to describe a person outside of your direct friend-group. It can be considered hate-speech, which is not protected in America, Australia, or other commonwealth countries (that the vast majority of us play from).

PoM has no grounds to fight the ban, not does he have any legal grounds to contest the loss of value to himself, his channel, or his account. Because he used speech that could be used to reasonably make a claim against himself.

Banning PoM was the correct action. And PoM's public response to the banning was the correct response. He will re-assess himself and his language and come back better. I like his videos and await his return.

It's not entirely impossible for GGG to reverse the account ban if PoM exhibits reform for next league. A ban doesn't mean deletion, his MTX and achievements are still there.

I seriously just cant believe people are defending him except in ignorance.

My issue is the lack of consistency.

One of GGG’s favorite streamers told a player - during the go-live a few leagues ago while being paid by GGG (remember 5hat pile of cash) - to go f@ck himself and the doubled down and said to go f@ck his mother. Now, in no work environment that I know of would that be tolerated. So, why no ban or a timeout for him?

Haha. I remember that.

Well I am glad you edited your comment to specifically clarify that you don't understand how services work. You can absolutely tell someone to pound sand if you don't want to work with them.

If this is true for the US, i can truely confirm it isn't for the EU.

well in Germay its the same as far i know. never hat issus here so not 100% sure.
but we have a law called Houserights

I have yet to find the law either for a member state of the EU or for the EU saying you cannot refuse service. I in fact have found multiple examples of people in Germany being refused service in restaurants.

UK - no longer EU, but persisted under the EU
It is unlawful to refuse to provide a service to a prospective client on the basis of age; disability; gender reassignment; marriage and civil partnership; pregnancy and maternity; race; religion or belief; sex or sexual orientation.

Either you are not from the EU or like many of my fellow American's don't understand the laws where you live.

So what did he actually say at work cant look it up lol?

He said:

1. Chris has a low IQ for taking POE the direction in which he is taking it in.
2. Chris is balding.

The end.
That is absolutely not "the end"

However this isn't surprising coming from someone who has a somewhat questionable past on these forums. How is that giveaway coming? Still working on it?

I haven't read through all 20 pages of this thread, but I made it through about 10 and didn't see this brought up, but wasn't he already banned for abusing staff? Or getting his fanbase to brigade? Or something? I can't remember exactly what it was but I think this isn't his first time being banned.

I don't think many of us would get a 2nd chance for abusing staff. And to be clear, I think this offense is more than enough to ban. The language used isn't venting; that's a personal attack against another human that also happened to use wording that is pretty damn insensitive to an already heavily marginalized group.

Why anyone thinks someone of that public stature should be able to say something awful like that about the lead for GGG and still keep their access to POE is beyond me. How is that even slightly reasonable? This isn't some government coming down on someone for expressing their opinion. This is a company defending their own against someone who clearly doesn't know where the line is in terms of reasonable feedback and communication.

And yes, I do think someone with a megaphone like Twitch or YT should be held to a higher standard. The hate they spew has more reach, impact and influence. That is absolutely part of the equation from my perspective.
Thanks for all the fish!
Morally he deserve it. Toxic attitude.
Technically he did nothing wrong in the game. (not using GGG software to be toxic)

Imagine losing your citizenship and get kicked from the country because you said something toxic live on the news channel.

IMO is a gray area.

We see people lose their jobs all the time for this kind of thing.

The 2020 election in the US was the pinnacle of win stupid prizes for people exercising free speech. You can say what you want when it doesn't endanger people, but there are consequences to both words and actions.
