90-95% of the unique buffs are really bad.

Unique, know what that word means? or how about loot tiering?

What a terrible take you have. Uniques aren't supposed to be filler, or stuff you use in the story only. They are supposed to be powerful rare items, that powerful they are UNIQUE, that is the whole ethos in the entire history of gaming of the word unique, from novels, to board games, to PnP games, to video games.

I've played many games in my 4 decades of gaming, some had crafted gear surpass unique tier, most had the opposite, the very best had a hybrid system.

There is no downside to unqiues or crafted gear fighting for BIS status on each slot.
Rerolling new characters will definitely be less painful with some of these uniques. Zoom zoom zoom to maps.

That depends on the rarity, sometimes i do not see single chaos orb untill i reach last act so even in trade league it can be hard to get any of the actually useful ones for your build.


As much as I wish to imagine myself being lvl 1, dropping tabula rasa and facebreakers from first 10 monsters i kill amd then instantly exploding my whole screen, it just never happened to me so i will not place any bets on it this time happening either.

They said that the droprate is a lot lower now, so that sounded like "well i will see those when i m 99lvl playing meta build and not bother to pick them up"

Edit: maybe I misunderstood what you mean by rerolling new character
if you mean "making second one in the same league and pushing it to endgame" that is something I do not do in first place so it is fully meaningless to me.

Just buy them. No matter how rare they make them, they wont be rare than seven league steps in the past (and people still used them on alts)
I'm fairly confident that map content will still regurtitate uniques left and right.

I do not make alts, if you do good job on first try I just do not see reason for alts, regrets are never expensive so you can just change the build even if you fail or do league starter and then regret like 30 points to transition to your endgame build. It is virtually never faster to make alt than to farm regret orbs.

My main issue with alts is that you have to do the missions again, i have no problem leveling from 1 to 100 again but the missions always break me, sometimes i finish campaign the first day of league and take 1 day break to recover from that torture.

I would be curious about the actual alt-statistics, i'd guess it is enough for most people to get burned out on re-doing missions once every 3 months.

I personally know some people that make 20 alts per month because they are forever unhappy with any build they do (they never put in the effort to push it from low budget starter to endgame)
They just play video where dude in mirrored gear makes all uber bosses explode in instant while having 11k hp and think that they will do the same on 2ex budget, after they do not they simply reroll instead of fixing the build.


Maybe they will be cheap enough to buy on our first characters, that remains to be seen, but somehow with them saying they are a lot rarer now it sounds like that is not the case.

There is no upside either. Unique means just that, there is nothing about how powerfull it is. They may have some unique effect, unique art and thats all. There is no rule saying it must be the best. Thats how PoE works, and always did. PoE is PoE so stop projecting your expectations from other games here.
I dont understand why they buff leveling uniques while nerfing the drop frequency. We have less monsters and less items quant/rarity in acts, so we would have less chance to find them when we need them the most …

They should increase the chance to find unique items before area lvl 68 and reduce it after 68 ...

Amongst things i dislike, there is the tendency from GGG to remove Health on items destined to the right part of the passive Tree. Ranger and shadow iare already low in health, and most of Evasion uniques doesnt have a Life roll. you can boost your evasion, but when you take a hit you're oneshotted.
Kintsugi has lost his life roll and its not the only unique.(deerstalker too)
I agree. I must have muttered to my self " why did they bother" and " wtf?" like half a dozen times reading through them all. Almost all of them went from trash to....trash.

I mean if you not make alts you dont rly need "leveling uniques". Since getting them in a single run of campaign is very unlikely those are more of a "alt thing".
Also point of alts is to have many characters. I make several builds each league but I dont trash the build the moment I made other character. I often make character to 91-92, make new build to 91-92, then switch back to previous one to get one more lvl and son on. I like to get back to my previous builds.
