Honestly, there are so many trash uniques it's impossible to really say which desperately needed a buff (such as Bitterdream) and which ones were serviceable as they were but could use a little power creep polishing.

MANY, however, could really benefit from the one thing that makes (made?) Poet's Pen so darn useful: That they level up with the player!

Anything with a level requirement below 40 should be solidly buffed w/o changing their level req.

Look at Solaris Lorica - it's decent enough, though sadly outclassed well before act 10. Players do not even **NEED** it's benefits (chaos does not penetrate ES) until act 9 and maps, rendering it simply a trash unique. Simply giving it X% more armor per 5 levels would make it viable in maps, but certainly not OP or BIS, but not immediate trash. What would make it truly useful would be 'immune to chaos' - period (resistance = zero to prevent max-rez matching cheeze), even without changing it's terribly low armor values.

And get rid of the onerous and often pointless 'drawbacks' on sooooo many uniques that render them entirely useless despite the potential utility of their unique function.

Fixed a bug where players adapted to 3.15. This bug cannot be corrected, so we have implemented a 90% reduction in item access as a punishment.
It's more like, take the 10-20 uniques currently actually used, ignore them, and buff everything else.

Not really expecting any useful buffs for most uniques, because they're 100% committed to having rare crafted items be BiS for all endgame content, which means uniques have to be strictly worse than even a modest (1-20 ex) rare item.

In fact, they've gone a long way towards removing late game value from a growing slate of previously iconic uniques, either by design (Skin of the Lords, Starforge, Cospri's Malice) or inadvertently/indirectly by destroying their upgradability and "hold" value (Hyrri's Bite, Death's Harp, Asenath's Mark, Heatshiver).

I miss being able to find or buy an early-league Hyrri's Bite with the reliable certainty that at some point between now and maps I will roll a prophecy that lets me go beat up a6 Hyrri and get a significant upgrade.

All the potential value in having a well-rolled Asenath's Mark is gone, and you'll need to farm all over again to get the upgraded version, which has an independent random drop table. By the time you get to maps, which is where these "fated" versions drop, you've likely outgrown the utility they would have provided your character.

Same with all the interesting dex armours (Wildwrap, Fox's Fortune, etc) that are now gated behind map bosses. Who realistically is going to look forward to dropping those? Or getting a 2-implicit corrupted one from Tane's cards?

It would be much better to find all the original prophecy targets in acts, like Nightwane or Dishonoured Queen or Shakari or whoever, and legit just add the fated upgrades to their drop pools, so players have a chance at "upgrading" before the item becomes obsolete.

That brings up an entire separate complaint about how GGG treats acts and how it's ever more unlikely they will add meaningful content to acts because it won't be accessible to PoE 2. You can design it so it will have counterparts in either mode. You can choose not to, and that's also a choice.

I'd love to see some early 1H and 2H melee weps get a little utility buff. Edge of Madness used to be a decent poor man's Oni for leveling into Terminus then into a crafted 2H sword/axe or a 'forge for Slayers.

Now it's an unfortunate reminder that while beyonders exist, they are only interested in helping you in level 81+ zones.

I get that we're not going to see peak Marohi Erqi back anytime soon. Or Ngamahu cyclone chieftain skid-marking the atlas. But some of the remaining options are just hopeless junk even for folks who fastidiously collect unique tabs of the stuff - Brain Rattler, Lavianga's Thingmabob, Actum, Singularity, Breath of the Council, even the once-handy Brutus' Lead Sprinkler has run out of mojo.

Lastly, there's a glut of unique bows at level 65+ that do nothing special, almost certainly nothing worth taking up a unique slot for. Chin Sol used to have built-in point blank, then it had nerfed PB, now it is just a 4x2 bag of nerfs. Nuro's used to do something kind of cool, now it gets ignored. Death's Opus keeps shrinking in the wash - now it's too small for the cat! Hopeshredder and the new eater bow are both rather underwhelming for the amount of real estate they take up. Darkscorn is a big jebait.

Merge some of these bows into fewer, but better, bows. And we have ENOUGH uniques designed around "big numbers + big drawback". Unique implies they do something truly different, something you can't get anywhere else. Like Chains of Command, or Gravebind, or The Gull.

There are so many uniques that are now trash. Starforge and Koam's Heart are two that could be buffed.

I assume that I will still leave Bitterdreams on the ground. Although some seemed interested, maybe it will be okay leveling some builds? I don't know?
