I can't believe this game still runs like garbage after all this time. (Get the new engine already)

You can say what you want, but try to play at 1440 and 144fps, i have a ryzen 5600x with an gtx3070 and game sucks so hard, is frustrating try to play in a seasson with this low fps, constant memory errors, crashes... horrible optimization in a game with graphics from the year 2000. And im not telling about problems in maps with 100 mobs, just in your ho you can crash whenever. Maybe diablo 4 will sucks, but at leats i could enjoy if it doesnt crash constantly

I don't know why people are having such issues. I have far from a super awesome computer and I hardly ever lag. I get 144fps almost 100% of the time and very rarely feel lag even in the most mob dense maps.

For some things the game works wonderfully and has great performance, for other scenarios it is horrible.

I love that I can open a strongbox that has 150 mobs in it, make all of them explode with Herald of Ash Automaton MTX and then their explosions ignite other nearby mobs which also explode nearly instantly, thus creating a beautiful chain reaction on my screen. In this scenario things are beautiful.

However, the stuttering this game has can be downright terrible. I just logged in and I'm staying in my hideout gettingg 60-70fps walking around (i7-7700hq & nvidia 1060 3gb, playing at 1900x1200) and just using enduring cry a single time drops my fps to 30 for a second. Then summoning decoy totem drops my fps to 20 for a second...
It jumps back up to 60-70 after this, but the sudden drop in fps is a mood killer and also has killed me in game multiple times.

When you get those sudden fps drops in the middle of 1000 mobs and spells and projectiles flying towards you, you don't really have much do to besides pop flaks and pray that you survive somehow. Which is not fun gameplay when you loose 10% of your experience each time you die.

And there are days when there's constant FPS drops one after another, where it looks like my PC is on its deathbed trying to run the game...

They definitely have work to do in the optimization department and I do hope that they can put in the time to do it, because even after 10 years this game is still really fun and interesting!


Edit: Just also tested out simply standing still and casting Wave of Conviction in this same hideout. It has 0.65 cast time and my mana runs out every 2 or 3 casts. This drops my fps down to 39.... And there are 0 enemies in my hideout...

Edit n2: Loading up the Karui Shore zone is also a wild ride in fps terms. Just walking around the place, using 0 spell effects gives me a bouncy fps meter all the way from 30 to 80 fps...
