Why is Mathil able to do everything that is impossible according to most of the complains here?
" The next argument is always "but mathil is a god hes so mechanicaly skilled he is not a normal guy". Well yeah you could invest twice as much into defenses than he does and half the dps and you would still easily crush everything exept uber uber bosses and sim wave 30 easily. You're just twisting my argument into what you want it to be, Zerber.
Mathil and other Streamers invest a ton of time and effort into the game. day-to-day job levels of effort. even offline researching builds, checking build forums or running simulations in PoE Planner - is effort in Path Of Exile. and then add on top the 8 or 12 hours a day being logged-in and actively playing. Is he "efficient" with his effort-to-Exalts ratio like top-tier 1% players? no. I don't make as much as Elon Musk per hour at what I do, either. your argument is, my line of work is a "hobby" if I'm not Elon Musk? if it is - what a stupid F*ing argument that is. And then you're telling me a game, where 1. most things are gated behind gathering an absurd amount of different types of random shit, and 2. the difference between the amount and quality of rewards & power level a "Streamer" (read - PoE as a job) has vs. an actual casual player - is literally astronomical... ... that game is not balanced towards the "PoE as a job" players? really? yeah, it is. NOTE: someone who puts 4-5 hours a day every day into PoE is not a casual by any stretch of imagination. Path Of Exile has Blizzard-levels of grind, without being Blizzard-levels of lootbox greed. GGG and Tencent can literally capitalize on the existing layered-RNG system as-is tomorrow, if they wanted to. I'll need to grind my socks off to gain access to just one attempt at a big bad Uber boss, and one roll of the 0.00000000001 chance dice to get a bunch-of-Exalts tier reward, IF I beat it - while these guys are chaining them and trading away inventories full of chase items per day. double-corrupting tabs full of tier-0s and tier-1s. people like me, are hamsters on a wheel. " I rather watch TV or play another game. It is called opportunity costs. |

" " You both are complaining that a game, specificaly designed to be research heavy and time consuming, demands you to spend time with it and and forces you to do research. Why are you even complaining or playing or whatever? This game was clearly not made for you. The complain about "you have to do research" is just completly bonkers. Yeah thats what this game is. Its aimed at a target audience that likes to solve such puzzles and put a lot of hours into it to make it work. If you do not like that kind of stuff you are not the target audience. |

" This 'time' or 'streamer' argument is so ridiculous. As if the time or being a streamer magically makes someone a good player. I for example, have probably 1500-2000 hours in PoE, yet I still feel inefficient and noob, with zero knowledge about crafting and making my own builds and simply enjoying dic*ing around. AND someone with 100-200 hours total playtime could easily surpass me if they would dedicate time to learn the game thoroughly. Because playing 12h a day doesn't give you much advantage on its own if you are inefficient and not learning anything. |

" Why? According to this post Mathil can beat ubers on 50 exalteds, and in another comment I've already said, that it's absolutely doable to make 50 exalteds in about 40 hours even without deep knowledge and streamer skill. League lasts 90 days so it's less than 30 minutes a day. Or you can play PathofMath's Seismic trapper and probably beat them on a super low budget. And to be fair uberbosses is super-endgame aspirational content meant for dedicated players and not for someone who is only ready to spend 30 minutes a day on a grind-heavy game. It's actually absurd that people complain that they can't do aspirational endgame content by playing super-casually. |

" Bingo! A lot of people complaining over the amount of RNG, how rare things are and how much time a player has to sink into PoE, are often people that "refuse" to learn. They are playing the game the way they want to (all power to them), and hope/demand/argue/advocate that the game should change in their direction. A little tweak here, a little research there and a little bit of adaption would make them three times as efficient and knowledgeable as they were, and their progression in the game would skyrocket. Sometimes, just sometimes, you'd be better off adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world should adapt to you. My Pedagogy teacher in college said that, and it has always stuck with me. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.
