Why do you keep nerfing fun every league?

There is a certain goal most players go towards, a certain gear level, maybe level 100 and so.
Yet GGG somehow thinks by adding more and more hurdles to get to this goal that this will somehow make the game better?
It does the exact opposite.

I played to 99 last league with good gear and many other things.

I cannot achieve this gear level this league because you mega nerfed Ashes of the Stars droprate, you mega screwed delve with the new rares, you made the game way harder in general, while introducing more bugs and more annoyances.
More Hurdles.

So right now its harder to level than last league because of more deaths due to new rares and the mob HP has increased in general because of that (more time to kill anything). ,
its harder to get good gear through fossils and endgame unique drops,
it less fun to get HH right now because HH absolutely sucks right now, its way harder to deep delve because of all the BS you introduced + still bugged, while blight is also more frustrating, legion is XP nerfed and more rippy...

And somehow this is supposed to be better or more fun???

This league is absolute torture compared to the last one, I have 0 motivation to work towards any goals and this will not be fixed by some numeric changes.

As long as the new chaos mobs (homing chaos + vines) and the insane amount of ground effects and after death effects are in the game then Delve is unplayable.

You made it so that in a game about killing monster the best way to progress is to NOT kill any monsters in delve because otherwise they spawn auras, ground effects, debufss, after death effects.
If you just run past them, way better.

Assassin and Juggernaut make Blight unplayable.

Legion triggers after death effects when the mobs are still frozen!!
and then they trigger again when they unfreeze and die...

Beastiary and Metamorph are basically unplayable and Essence is seriously overtuned aswell.

I fought a Metamorph in a t15 Kirac map, i died 3 times before giving up after damaging it for 3 minutes only getting 20% of its hp down.
Im at 3million dps and capped spellblock/block.
How much do you think the "casual" player will struggle with this?
A mob with more damage and HP than shaper while giving basically 0 reward.

Same with beastiary, insane mob HP and damage while giving 0 rewards, insane risks for absolutely nothing.

Essence at least gives rewards but saying "no balance changes" while turning every essence encounter into a überbossfight is against dishonest.

I could go on and on, I just dont see how making the game more annoying, harder and imbalanced, while proclaiming "no balance changes" is any improvement to this game or in any way honest to your playerbase.

This is not challenge, its is not motivating, its is IMBALANCED and frustrating.

If your goal with this was to motivate people to play longer then you absolutely failed, I cannot see myself playing this league for more than 1 week, i played last league for 8.
0 motivation to do anything, you are punished everywhere.

If you want to introduce "hard mode" go for it, but dont force it on the general playerbase because 90% of players dont want it.

Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get me.

Their target is streamers, and they are making it more fun/crazy for streamers.

With the crazy archnemesis mods, lots of good times on HC streams.

I think they have calculated that most MTX comes either from whales who pay every league no matter what, or from new players who got turned on to PoE from a stream and will happily buy MTX to get to Act 7 then quit.

Thats not a slam or insult to GGG, its a business model evaluation.
Some of us don't want an easy game where you can get bis gear in a few days (harvest). I don't think the average player should be able to easily work their way up to t16 maps without farming a lot. If hard mode actually came out like Chris promised then I would be fine with making the standard league version easy.

so it's a nerf for the average player because those who can farm the top end content will make even more big bucks. this just makes the divide even bigger. omni and ashes were build enabling items that were accessible for all players. and these average players won't even be able to farm the 35 ex with how rare monsters are implemented now.

edit: also, "some of us"... love the elitism.

correct, most income in games comes from a tiny percentage of whales. i've played since day 3 of open beta and i'm sure one poe whale drops more money on the game in a single purchase than i have in close to ten years. however, i doubt that's sustainable. you do need new players and i'm sure the new player experience is currently so bad that hardly anyone sticks around.
I play ssf, planned an omni build, I'm going to quit this league because drop rate will cost 1.5month to farm(last league cost me1 week).

Why? Is there a rule to spend 600 hours per day to grind for items? Just give choices to the players and everyone will be happy.
Chris's obsession for hc mode in the normal league is doing bad to the game. Is it so hard to have 2-3 difficulties and let the players choose which one are preferring to play? (Grim Dawn has this with great success).
this thread brought to you by not getting the drop rates right the first time and residual bad taste changing that leaves.
Maybe define fun and if you can't reach that fun then redefine what is fun for you.
Same topics league in league out. It was more fun last league, then it was more fun the league before the last league and so on and so on ..
