torchlight 2 has a beta weekend
torchlight 2 has a beta weekend, sign up and get a key to play this weekend.
so far cool, but i am totaly into path. i mean the gameplayflow, how i can customize, and the camera view is PERFECT. so i am not a fanboy, just saying you did a good job PoE. and realy cool you are not blizzard activison, diablo 3 kindaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa sux (a pitty). See you in cutthroat!
...and if you have one beta key left, i have a many friends that are waiting to play PoE. |

I signed up but I didn't get a key. I guess the weekend beta is limited. :(

So I haven't had much time to really play, but I can say right now that the class offering this time interests me slightly less than in TL1. I know all the skills aren't yet unlocked but there doesn't seem to be too much variance within any one class. They are, however, very interesting and original at times, combining elements of stereotyped classes to produce refreshing ones.
It plays very, very smoothly. Just as TL1 did. Nothing so far really differentiates it from its forebear or indeed any ARPG, which is obviously a good thing if that's your intention. The music is...well, it's Uelmen. I still don't think he'll ever top D1's soundtrack but it's not as if he isn't still making really, really good game tunes. I've no doubt I'll play this a fair bit at some point, but I'm sort of glad to see first-hand that PoE is still the ARPG for me. If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between. I am Path of Exile's biggest whale. Period. Last edited by Foreverhappychan#4626 on May 19, 2012, 10:34:59 PM

i hope some of the PoE devs have a chance to check out some Torchlight in between working on PoE and checking out thatothergame.
i see what total biscuit meant with the satisfying nature of killing stuff. This is down to 3 factors 1) clever use of screen shake to varying degrees 2) sound/lighting effects 3) mobs tend to pop most of the time. In my opinion PoE is fine in regards to points 2 & 3 but I would love to see some screen shake action tested in PoE. the trick would be having it subtle enough to not over do it or make people get motion sickness but used enough to enhance those high movement or *KABOOM* moments. I love the classes in TL2 but the atmosphere and skill tress leave a bit to be desired. all in all, TL2 looks like a solid ARPG and I would recommend anyone who has the free time to give it a nosey while its in open beta this weekend and check it out. :: sƃuıɥʇ ɟo ʎɔuɐʇsuoɔ ǝɥʇ ɟo ʎʇılɐǝɹ lɐuıɟ ǝɥʇ ǝq plnoʍ sıɥʇ ʎɐʍɐ ʇǝƃ
