On the naming of things... in PoE, or, The thesaurus can be dangerous

Keep in mind that 'Cathedral' has been a Diablo staple since, well, forever. I can see why they'd want to move past it (although keeping the church was cool :) )

Grotto of Bones? ahahahahha.
If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

I can recall no cathedral in D1 (always called the church or msybe dungeon, then catacombs), and D2 had, well, everything in it, hehe.

And yeah, that Fellshrine and Church area is awesome, and I sincerely hope they never remove either one, or stick a bunch of pain-in-the-ass enemies which aren't skeletons or zombies in Fellshrine. That atmosphere, man, the dark exploration, skeleton enemies ... I just love it.

Just for clarification. Also, if this animated gifs of all the monsters doesn't kick in your nostalgia gears, you didn't play D1 at all! ^_^

Ah, those were good times!

My wife's Warrior would "kick open" the door, then, from outside, my Rogue would wall-to-wall the place with Fire Walls, and drop in a Hydra for good measure. Warrior would close the door (poor, stupid monsters couldn't get out) and then go in to mop up when the Hydra stopped firing. =^[.]^=

Oh, that's some badass strategy there, Raycheetah!

And to Charan: Indeed, seeing those little monsters made me want to load up D1 again and start running around, hehe. And those yellow zombies ... don't let them touch you, hehe. :)

Thanks for the clearup as far as the name Cathedral. We always just called the Church Dungeon. Even seeing it lavbeled Cathedral, I'm thinking "No, it's Church Dungeon. The game even calls it that." So IDK, hehe. It has been a while.

Normally I'd let it slide but I've been given implicit permission from all involved to be as pedantic and nitpicky as humanly possible. ;)

How about "Caramel Ape"? Which of course, you'd use Chocolate Frenzy to defeat.

Regarding cannula, it doesn't seem unusual to me that Wraeclast would utilise terms in different ways than we do. It certainly wouldn't have the contemporary meaning in the absence of advanced medical techniques.

Given that it's derived from the Greek for "reed", a "tube inserted into the body to drain fluid" sounds a lot like an arrow :) It's certainly not uncommon for terms to be misapplied to related objects and then become the convention.

(I also took "carnal" for the apes to mean "hunger for flesh", which is fitting with the overall carnivore theme...)
I say keep the silly names. It gives kids an opportunity to learn new words and a good laugh for the rest of us.
