Convince me Stash tab "MTX" is not pay to win

i have over 200 premium tabs with 20 of them being quads and all special tabs ... and nobody ever saw me winning.

one guy selling a headhunter over a forum post entry makes more currency than me with 5 quads for selling stuff.

One does not simply win path of exile.

Honestly I'm just reminded of TF2 where you have a limit to your inventory which is enough to have like every alternate weapon and a fair amount of hats. But if you want to 'win' the game, pay out for more storage for the trading.

From personal experience, if you have enough points while the sale is on, I'd recommend a Fragments tab, too. It will see quite a bit of use. =^[.]^=

people live in capitalist countries, vote for capitalist governments, preach the virtues of capitalism over other forums of economic structure and then try to moralise game developers for running a business within that economic model.

its embarrassing.



ggg has a responsibility to their shareholders to make a profit.

ggg has a responsibility to their staff to pay their wages and give them long term job security so they can feed their families.

ggg has a responsibility to us as players to keep the game funded, producing regular content for us and to protect the time and money we have already invested into the game by keeping it up and running.

ggg owes it to US to make sure they are financially viable long term, to make good on that contract they have with us as players that our investment into this game is not wasted.


people trying to suggest that them trying to make money is somehow at odds with our interests and moral outlook as players is living in some warped fantasy land. as if theyre making fools of us or conning us by trying to be a successful business. how absurdly backwards is this kind of thinking?

I've got a few hundy hours in tf2 and i love that game whenever i play it (most aversion is caused from lack of servers at times), that system is good, and in the least, much better than PoE. The especially great thing about tf2 over PoE is that you can Sell items without having to be logged into the game and give the devs better annual reports to show with artificially inflated "played hours per capita". Hyperbole aside, Pay to Win to me is when you can put in money to skip massive parts of the grind(Oh hello Lost Ark, hello Dungeon Fighter Online) pick up something with far better stats than what you can actually get in a reasonable time, or funnel money into getting more chances at getting or upgrading a very good and strong character/unit(OH hello Gatchas).

Basically Pay to Win as I define it is getting an automatic progression skip or power increase.

I don't feel stronger with the PoE stash tabs. I'm still gonna probably have to trade for a better Tidebreaker. I'm probably gonna have to figure out how to get links sets up better and better gear. Need to do Labyrinth one more time.

I'm confused as to how Stash Tabs are going to actively help me clear this content. At BEST, it makes it possible to trade and pick up Chaos orbs but I'm also not at the state in the game or understanding of mechancis to really get the whole trading game.. And you can do that without the pay for stash tabs, it's harder and more leg work but it's possible. And even if it makes the trading easier, if you're build is poor or weak, it's not gonna matter.

I like my Warcry set up but I'm unsure if I can take this into the end game myself; stash tabs or fully outfited gear or not. Not sure I have the skill or reflexes anymore.

A game with Pay to Win would just sit me down and say "here's 20 continues to face tank this map or boss fight..... 10 bucks please." Or sell me some flask that triples armor/damage but can only be bought at the shop or traded, not dropped or earned in game.

While I get the idea of Stash tabs being 'pay to win' that is the trading game of PoE. Unless I see it actively giving me a 10% damage increase, I really don't see or feel it being pay to win myself. Maybe it is pay to win but I think to most casuals like me we just don't see or care cause we aren't going to get to that level.

POE isnt free to play. its free to try. if by some chance you can go for years with only 4 tabs and no purchases good for you. but as far as stash tabs go this is how you "pay" for the game the same way you would pay for a $60 title from any other game developer. the difference here is you choose what you give ggg and when.

as an aside there are stash tab sales all the time. so you can pick up some absurd value for like 10 dollars

It's impossible. As others have said, you've made up your mind.

The way the question is phrased just seems to be a way of inciting argument. Kind of like going into a bar and making a controversial statement in a loud voice.

Even if it were pay to win (which I don't personally believe, because my definition of that is different), so what? What's the point of this thread?

This is a crazy thread. People are splitting hairs on whats P2W, and then people say they don't care. But then as soon as you say,"if you don't care, why cant i pay for "others" to win/buy my friends cosmetics", they all get big mad. Are GGG not getting the money ether way, if its for yourself or not? Literal hypocrites on here, This game makes money hand over fist.
