why do ppl play SSF?

short unswer trade sucks
Spoiler
(sorry for my english)
hope i didnt make too many mistakes tho

oh are u still here exile ?
well i ask u one question how much cost u build ?
we dont asks this question here coz every single item u found on ssf is priceless

we playing ssf coz it only way to enjoy poe. on trade u thinking how to get exalts mirrors etc. to buy some shit on ssf
on ssf u start thinking "what i wanna to craft right now" or "what unique i could get from divintaions cards" "what kinda gamba help me set up my build" u looking on every unique and think "it is suitible for me right now or not ?"

how long does it takes for u to make 6 off color it make take weeks of grind on ssf

have to learn every boss fight or u screwd coz is no other way to get their loot

every single challenges u done, 100% done by you no shit

have u even imagine days of farming to get shavronne ?

imagine to use every single currency for craft instead trying to flipping it to exalts yeah... we are weird on ssf

do u think all of that is the bad thing ? not at all
it make u keep plaing even then exalt cost less than $1 coz u dont rly care

for me personally its rly boring to play trade yes i can farm\trade 100+ exalts in first week but i dont want to, what for ? to farm more ? to play some bullshit meta ?

all problems i read here is kinda meh i do have real one i drop mageblood on ssf and cant make build arround it and time... time is running out dude

I like ssf because #I_am_the_reason for my successes and my failures

give you advise set a small goal for the league and try to achieve it and next time make the goal harder (like kill a8 dethless for 1st time or even kill him )
and dont rush try to enjoy the process

I have multiple fully built chars in ssf.

I find it to be lots of fun. Finding items and upgrades feels meaningful. The progression isn't just farm currency for the market then just buy stuff. That's boring.

on the one hand

ssf is very hardly playable because there is no proper item progression system in the game overall currently and crafting is casino gambling, so you can spend dozens of hours without any upgrades, so this mode is extremely time consuming

but on the other hand

trade league consists of abusers of all sorts including party play, rmtrs, botters, any competitive aspect is ruined there completely, so it's a giant cesspool, there is little to no reason in participating that circus. when your gameply is measured by ex/hr and all league is centered around trading, which is one of the worst aspect of this game, i can see why ppl refuse to play trade. because if a player is not playing the trade league "properly" aka "efficient", he will feel constant pressure

nothing matters in trade league. challanges could be bought, 100 lvl could be bought (rotas), gear could be bought, fucking rmt so currency doesn't matter that much. complete disaster

I play SSF with my friends because I got an account banned 7 years ago (got the account since beta, years before Steam launch), one of my friends quit the game again for counter-strike (semi-pro) and gave his items, 1 month later I got banned for RMT and I never RMT'd in any game ever and I'm close to being 40 years old, let alone me not even cheating in the year 2000 in CS as youngster, so in SSF we feel safe. Another friend of mine got banned 2 years after he STOPPED using awakened PoE, so many reasons to play SSF, they have no reason to ban even if they lie about your "RMT" or trade macro, as their ToS is the most unclear one I've ever read since ever.

SSF is the way to go for me and my friends, we already experienced GGG's way of things.

If you are having issues getting resists SSF while leveling you probably need to learn a bit more about the game before giving ssf a shot.

its overall a better version of the game as you are forced to utilize basically all the mechanics the game has to offer instead of "farm quick buy strength"

Perhaps give it some more playtime and learn a bit more about the game and ways you can become self sufficient, it is extremely rewarding :)

i just tired it for the first time for the delve event and it feels bad...having to constantly pick up and ID rares just to fix resistances...at lvl 81 i still dont have any of them at 75%....i was lucky enough to get a 5 link but normally by this time i have a 6 link. why do ppl enjoy this? the game is hard enough as as it is without crippling yourself....

edit- oh and at lvl 81 still no quicksilver flask drop...is this even normal?

Is that Ruthless SSF?
Because drops in SSF aren't that bad. Your filter might be the reason you didn't find a quicksilver flask.

So, why do I play SSF (when I don't play Ruthless SSF):
I've never liked trading, so I didn't.
Furthermore I think that PoE is way too easy until it gets too hard. Playing SSF makes the "too easy" part harder, and the part that was too hard before will still be too hard, so it doesn't matter. But overall getting to that too hard part feels more of an accomplishment in SSF.
And for the same reason I now play Ruthless SSF - because there not only does making progress feel better, even drops are exciting. You're not showered in rares and uniques, everything has a real chance to be better than what you're already using.

no i made this years ago someone just necroed it
For the fun I suppose?
Cause not everyone is into the boring trade aspect, searching up for whatever all day or desperately flip stuff to earn some currency in a pixel game.

It's also somewhat more challenging to a degree because you have to use your currency in a different way other than just buying finished items or uniques.
The approach of building a character is also a bit different because you might not have access to every "required" items right away and work around it with different approaches.

The only ssf pain is to farm specific items out of content that you don't like and enjoy all. Or even struggle to get a certain drop in first place. But too bad the game's just balanced for trade league with all those china bots.
Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.
