Tormented spirit is one of the most frustrating mechanic in the game. The bloody AI doesn't even possess a rare that's next to it but prefer to run half across the map, missing one or two more rare mobs on the way, before going away without possessing anything.

It gets worse, if you have the bad idea to have tormented spirits with a jun mission, most of the spirits don't even bother to spawn in the actual map but spawn in the packed Research lab instead ...and still fail to possess most of the rares that are in the lab. I mean, what the fck?

I bet spirits possessing rares has a RNG to it. /s

The only way to have them possess something is to run essences Zana craft, or use the Atlas passive instead of Tormented scarabs.

How so?

Who do you think does all the game balancing decisions (like removing Prophecy?) - If you answered Tormented Spirits, then you will begin to see how these kinds of decisions effecting massive part of PoE are made.

Players think the tormented spirits are the images flickering across the game screen. The tormented spirits are us players trying to continue to have fun using mechanics GGG put into the game long ago.

The only explanation I can think of that makes sense is that GGG is getting close to approaching some hard database limits on PoE, and they don't want to have to redo the database, so they are starting to cut stuff now, so they can get to PoE 2.0 without a redo.

I didn't say they should remove Tormented spirits, more like it needs some rework because the spirit's AI is as good as the AI that drives my toaster.

Yes, it's possible. They'll remove all the itemized prophecy from our inventories, I bet it's going to trim the db quite a bit.

I just hope they do something to replace the prophecies that were actually useful like the Twice enhanced Prophecy, and others like the tempests that add more item quantity, or the ones that add more Unique, magic or rare mobs.

I rather think how bad to generate a map without removing league from the game.

Also the netcode. so many debuff and mechanic data are communicating between client and server

they talked alot about " expanding sideways" with alternative endgames like delve or heist.

prophecy is nothing of that sort, there is no challenge attached to the rewards it gives. except the risk to invest into the mechanic to profit.

sad but that's how mechanics are judged nowadays: dump some hundred exalts into it, faceroll the challenge and if it doesn't return a profit, it's crap.

in that regard, prophecy is crap.
