streamers drop rate easy life easy gameplay
" People that believe the moon landing is fake, will always do so, no matter the "evidence". People that believe streamer RNG exists, will always do so, no matter the "evidence". And people that don't believe streamer RNG exists, will also do so until the "evidence" says otherwise. I write "evidence", because there will never be evidence that streamer RNG doesn't exist. No matter how much people talk about probability, statistics and logic, it can't be 100% proven - at least for people that believe in streamer RNG. Hell, we could even do a large survey, logging 20 streamers for thousands of hours, and there would still be people out there saying; "...but I saw these highlights on Youtube...". Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

" The biggest problem here is that people always try to find patterns, thats what our brain does. Its normal behaviour. Randomness is something our brain doesnt accept easily. That means if people see someone get really lucky they assume theirs more behind it than pure randomness, the same applies if someone is really unlucky. PoE and any other ARPG with random drops is basicaly a slot machine. The most efficient way to make profit with a slot machine is pulling the lever as often as possible. The randomness generator, whatever you want to call it is generaly geared to force you to make a profit even if you just alch and go. A alch is around 0,08c and a T15 map is between 1 and 10c usually. You will always find stuff worth more than 5,08 c in any map you will ever run. People that think they drop nothing just do not add up the stuff they find, they just notice if something big drops. People with game knowledge just maximize and abuse this system and instead of getting 10 to 20c out of every map they multiply that by 10 or even more. Most super efficient farmers and farming groups do not even stream. The other thing that people forget is how often streamers get unlucky. Just watch a whole 8 hour stream and count how often things didnt go as planed and how often they get really lucky. Oh btw. I found a house of mirrors this league in a stacked deck, I didnt stream. Weird isnt it? |

Sorry but the landing on moon was really fake, the flag waving in the wind got me triggered...
Not the point of the thread though, and it's not statistics or mathematics it's logic . Never invite Vorana, Last To Fall at a beer party.

" The problem with this is that you must begin operating under the belief that GGG is beyond reproach. That somehow marketing and making money isnt a consideration in how they operate. GGG has shown us many times, that they are willing to venture in to some pretty grey areas in terms of ethics. Here are some of the few highlights that you can look up, or may even remember. -Part owner/stakeholder in GGG also ran a PoE RMT currency website. -Refused to list their mystery(gamble) box drop rates, until they were forced to because a law was passed. -A character seeding system was identified in Delve due to a "bug"(which lol >is so on brand). Essentially your loot table was determined at character creation. -Telling PC supporters their money wasnt begin used for Console Development. Oops. -The infamous friends and family streamer server. The point is that messing with drop rates for individuals is VERY easy, and they do it server side all the time to combat botting. I dont think its beyond reason that GGG would help market their game, basically for free, by maximizing the experience you see live on stream. Perhaps one day a GGG Dev will leak it out after they leave (unless NDA). Personally I think you are being naive about it given their track record. Can it be "proven?". No. Would it shock me if they were? Absolutely not. Imo they are not the pinnacle of business ethics and values. You forgot to mention something Chris Wilson said in 2012

there is an old thread from 2012 or so where they admitted to adjusting peoples drops because they were botting...so they can easily change pppls drops. maybe someone can link that thread if they remember

" As usual, I have to disagree with you. We all know GGG have fucked up on several occasions, both when it comes to ethical grey areas and competence, as the current map tab fuck-up is a good example of. But we've always known they are capable of altering drop rates. All developers in all games are. It's just code. Trust in GGG is one thing, but do you automatically think there's "streamer RNG" going on just because you don't trust them? I don't trust Blizzard, and after all the debacles the last year(s), I don't think anyone should. But do I think there's "streamer RNG" in Diablo and WoW? No, I really don't. I agree that distrust in GGG makes it possible (even plausible, to some degree) to believe in "streamer RNG", but I don't think that's the main reason some people believe it exists. As we've seen in this thread, several times; people aren't pointing towards GGG and their grey areas, they are pointing towards examples in "Youtube highlights". So I think the lack of ability to see the greater context is a better, more direct explanation. And no, not just that ;) Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.
