POE is ACTUALLY dying not the drama queen kind, but the actual kind... From Developer Hubris
I think the only thing I can remotely agree on in this post is that there are alot of unnecessary drops. It would be nice if more rares could drop that you can equip but crafting my own gear is a better "chase item" than farming currency for a mageblood. There is no other game, that I am aware of, that enables you with multiple systems to craft your own gear, giving you more opportunity to better your character. ESPECIALLY with the new eldritch crafting system, which has basically engaged "easy mode" for new players attempting to craft. Not to mention the absolute feeling of satisfaction when you can say "hey, I crafted every single piece of my own gear"
Sometimes the boat needs to be steered in a different direction and you have to try new things. GGG hasn't always hit the mark but they do make corrective action if the player base isn't pleased. Good luck in getting transparency or community feedback from Blizzard, like you do with GGG, their community interaction is an absolute joke. If your uncle Jack helps you off an Elephant, would you help your uncle Jack off an Elephant?

Actually I agree with OP.
Also TOO many stuff, very difficult mechanics to understand, billions of useless items and cards, not god QQL (cannot trade cards in bulk for example) etc. Game going downhill and I didn't buy anything for years. |

So TBH i kinda get what you're saying here. However me personally I dont care who is streaming what or playing what. I feel like the game is great. Is it hard? YES. Do i ever finish all league content? Never once i have i ever. Do i feel like they take care of higher end players? YES.
Even though these are my feelings on the game i still come back and play the way i want. I feel like since last league them adding in the additional tree for maps and what you like to do in end game has made it more fun for me personally. I watch Quin, Ziggy, Ziz, and Mathil sometimes but those dudes literally play every league and have way more time than I do to do so. I dont get mad at them for it, good for them. I do what I can and that is why I like POE. In conclusion feel this game isnt dying and it will continue to grow. Also I hope everyone has fun tomorrow or this weekend while leveling :) Great Post and content in here. Holla at me on twitch, youtube, tiktok, X, and Rumble @beats4president
Always trading :) Thank you GGG for the Great Game |

People who think D2 or D2R is better than Poe are out of their mind. Blizzard has become bottom of the barrel level game developers and it takes them many months for the simplest updates. D2R runs like garbage and no new content, but go for it, enjoy. Lol.

" Part of the appeal of D2 and D2R is the lack of change/content. There is some comfort in knowing you can play a game for years, go away for a decade, and come back and nothing changed. With POE, if you're gone for a league or two, there is a chance you have to learn/relearn quite a bit. That's not for everyone. Thanks for all the fish!

Agree pretty much with all 4 points other than with you on clear speed, I love going and clearing fast, I've played this game for over 10 years I don't want to go back old, slower paced PoE.
HC balance should be separate from SC I don't care which outdated 1993 game dev philosophy this goes against. youtube/twitch.tv/DESPAIR268
REVERT SUNDER :) REVERT SEISMIC CRY :) REVERT IMPALER :) REVERT GAME :)) MAKE DUALWIELD GREAT AGAIN :) |

It's dying for me but I've played for 8 years, and likewise, most on my friends from back then are long gone.
However, I'm a firm believer in build it and they will come though. New players and players that don't get bored with the updates, etc. So it won't die. Git R Dun!

Just quickly googling shows that PoE was dead at least 6 years ago and definitely 200% cold dead 5 years ago.

POE are the best arpg game. Maybe my interest in genre at all will ever die but not interest in POE. So i would prefer not to play any arpg games rather exchange POE for pathetic excuses like D4 or other currently "popular" thing.

Obviously it wont ''die'' as drama threads suggests, retention would be better if GGG condensed all the bloat and unnecessary complicated mechanics that require casual players to read guides or youtube tutorials excessively for basic stuffs (i guess they're doing this in POE 4.0)
POE would benefit a lot from quality of life updates that otherwise makes the game feel outdated ( e.g a modern inventory size and not the ancient D2 inventory size). As for the future i believe a huge spike of players will reinforce once POE 4.0 is released but i have the feeling Diablo 4 will be the leading isometric ARPG for at least the first year after its release.
