why (in my opinion) the game feels bad

That is not the point. I want to get a chance to let my skills matter - personally and those of the character I play. One-shot mechanics are not fair. I get no chance to throw in my skills into the equation. Just yesterday I ran a map, switched into Scourge and died instantly. And when I write "instantly" I really mean instantly. On / off in a millisecond.

When I die, I want to be able to say "Stupid me", not "Stupid game".
Do or do not. There is no try.
I feel same. There is big hype every league start, and few days after, the same struggle, same feel= I must work hard then I can try a build little bit, and the new content. I regret I payed so much money for this game.

I really want a game: enjoying, fun, inspiring, a challenge, what normal people can also achieve, without so many knowledge, but I really do no want to spend weeks/months for struggling.

Why there is not content for average player, who wants play this game for fun, for rest after hard work? And why can we use few gems, few items combinations for specific content? Are struggling, hard working fun for most of players?

ya honestly i feel like right now in its current state.. (if you plan on playing solo) theres no point to this game if you cant invest like 12 hours a day .. basically gotta be streamer and play PoE all day.

ofc you CAN go in party and make 99999999999999999999999999999% more profit
and ofc you CAN make meta build like toxic rain which 60% of server does
and ofc you CAN make boring magic find build.
and ofc you CAN do only heist / tier map juiced scourge

but all that is boring and pretty much the ways to make enough currency for anything..

i really start to feel stressed by this game it just doesnt feel like a game.. personally i quit for now and im on a search for some other games might go back into Last Epoch. and i hope next updates will make things better but as of now this game is inteded and built for streamers and some super hardcore players and not for the avrage consumer
Im at level 4 and I just cannot get over what is ahead of me... I don't see fun there anymore...

loads of deaths. Exp lost. Tons of grinding for gear. Piss poor drops for a solo player.

nothing but struggle and adversity...

3.15 where poe died. sad...

Everything ends.

Don't bother with snow... You could drop a nuke on ggg headquarters and he would tell you its okay.

Zappa had it right... watch out where the huskies go and don't you eat that YELLOW SNOW.

wanna know who defend GGG and POE?
the fact is the ones who defend GGG and the current state of the game are actually the ones who dont care much about the game health and community
they are often selfish guys who are benefiting from the current situation of mirrors faring in party big groups and from awful market prices.

because even super hardcore players and no lifers (not saying it as bad thing) and even some streamers acknowledge that the current state of the game is unhealthy for the game its self and driving away a huge community from the game.. ziz admit to enjoy that crazy hardcore content but he seem to understand its overally not good.

i tend to not listen or bother with the people here who just blindly defend GGG by trashing your point and lecture you saying "just learn how to craft"
"just do heist" "just get good" "just play meta build" "just farm tower map"
because they completely ignore the fact that what make this game not fun for me is that ive lost all the freedom this game once had.. in order to gear up now you need to chose a specific stupid build farm specific map with specific gear na dwhat not.. everything in this game start to feel clunky AF .. people runing with 99999999999 movement speed is ok.. flame dash feeling like flame dash is not ok had to be nerfed
I used to believe that 3.15 gem nerf was a horrible idea all around. As i paid attention to a lot more builds besides the few ones i like playing, it turned out that a lot of insane builds doing 40+ mil sirus dps used to exist. After 3.15 there are still 100-200ex 30 mil builds in the game but tons of fun builds just died. It wasn't the nerf per se that was bad, it was the extremely lazy cut all across the board implementation - aka someone just couldn't be bothered to do their job.

3.16 flat out killed defense for some characters while leaving others untouched or even buffed - for example totem hiero that i started playing in scourge is weaker than wet toilet paper without old blind while assassin of all things could easily compensate for missing dodge with elusive with badge. It even has the new node against dot nearby.

Masteries are similarly just unbalanced - some are useless, some are awesome. Moving medium cluster notable to small ones nerfed much more than curse stacking builds, but ggg doesn't care about collateral damage.

Leaving monsters unnerfed and adding aspirational content for no lifers and masochists, further screws the average player and leaves him with even less earning potential.

Plainly, since 3.13 the game has been turning into a bigger and bigger mess. Me thinks that CW wants to be another Letho Atreides II but his golden path is made of cheese - its full of holes and stinks badly.
I would have to agree with OP and many others here. I have spent a lot of time trying to get my builds working again in std since 3.15. All can clear t16 red maps pretty fast with he odd death here and there. But that's about it. Some are glass cannon so to be expected but man i have beefed up a few of my chars with lots of layers of defense, pretty sweet gear, and a shit load of reading about game mechanics ect.. and practicing a more evasive game play style. End game feels very bad to me now. Very

I'm not going to endlessly grind red maps and I'm not going to play end game that is so damn punishing even when I have highly invested in characters. Would be nice to get a char to lvl 100 without pretty much 100% having to rely on fekin ROTA's. Way to many one shots its such bullshit. Not to mention the difficulty increase in end game. Most my builds pre 3.15 could handle almost all endgame content. Not insta killing boss's or anything but it felt good.

Now it just feels bad. As of today i am on the verge of giving up for a while or most likely uninstalling for good. What a waste of time. Very frustrating and makes me feel like shit about the amount of cash i spent to support this game.

100%
2 of the main issues are build viability which honestly i feel like 90% of skills if not 95% are simply not good enough to do anything in the game unless you can gear them with 1k ex items..

and items.. i feel like unless you do stupid stuff that require of you to play specific meta build and do specific content you cant gear up or make progress.. i find it boring.. the thing is.. i think GGG balance the skills /stats around top players... like they see someone using an ok skill investing 10 mirrors into it and making it wipe away entire map in1 click then they are like ohhh its not ok lets nerf the skill but in reality the skill most likely was already pretty meh but they dont nerf the items and now for the avrage players this skill isnt even playable
I agree with everything op said, the game has become far worse since 3.13(not because of harvest, but because of the conquerors/maven mods) GGG gave the powers so much power with awakened items and mods that players were not supposed to get or stack at all that they decided to kneecap everyone. Now just to feel good you need to get immunity to stun/frozen/chilled/bleed/corrupted blood and like 40% ms. Peoples end builds do similar dmg right now to 3.14 league starters. Path feels like an rpg where you just have to guess what skill the developers want you to play and not experiment at all.
