I really dislike the idea that GGG is like, ''We added new notable passives to the tree via removing notable passives from an ascendancy class.'' Y'all spends months working on this patch and that is the best idea you can come up with? Why not remove a notable from every class and put it on the tree? Let us completely disregard the point of Ascendancy Classes, the challenge and reward of getting that notable to better help you in endgame! What a uncreative shill move! Gladiator was a fun class, not a overly popular class, for people that want to make a build without lots of tricky gear. I have been having huge fun with my Facebreaker ''counter-fu'' build and out of hundreds of things that could be changed, nerfed, rebalanced GGG picks the best 3 nodes in Gladiator and because they are lazy and unimaginative they just remove a node and put it on the passive tree for everyone, probably over in the Shadow corner so Duelist has no access. I think people are jumping the gun on this ascendency being "dead", squishier? prolly but not dead. Fact of the matter is with dodge gone, block is the only defensive left to help avoid a 1 shot and if layered right, can be used to avoid getting 1 shot.
What other build can garuntee that? champion? ooooh neat reduced damage! Not like even a 20% of a one shot will not just result in being blasted by on offshoot trash mob. The real nerf to gladiator is that it's no longer going to be a mid ranged build. It going to be incredibly expensive, because glad is going to need to now layer their tempest with the new flask belt which activates magic flasks+ a shield that can turn your main hand into a 6 link for damage, as many defensive auras that can be cheesed in with the new passive masteries, and so on. The belt alone is likely going to cost around 100 exalts, so good luck every other player who can never reach past yellow maps, looks like PoE streamers and dedicated spreadsheet players get to play this ascendancy now..........so basically glad is the new bow build. TLDR. |

Its horrible, being one shotted in t2 maps at lvl 72 glad with all block ascendencies. 2x ichimonji, 75 all ress etc... this is fucking stupid, ty ggg. Ruined glad, guess we can ONLY play bleed now.

you can still get 60%/50% block with glad getting versatile combatant. 16% block from the ancestry plus 10% max attack block. with this setup you can get 60/50 block without getting 2 of the block wheels and a 30% shield (lioneyes). and some people saying the ignore enemy phys damage reduction is bad... have you ever played a phys build without phys penetration? its garbage at endgame bosses. the node is huge, better than the inquisitor's ele node, as that is only on crit. this is 100% phys penetration on EVERY HIT.
then with your uber lab node you can just grab the 50% bleed, the one 15% chance to bleed node right at the start of that bleed wheel by resolute technique, slap on haeomophilia gloves, and you have 90% chance to bleed from ONE skill point, a pair of gloves, and your last ancestry upgrade you didn't have anything else to put in. I wouldn't invest anymore into bleed besides this, but most phys builds get like 250+% increased ailment damage anyway just getting damage nodes. people just mad because they cant get 75/75 and now 60/50. its called LAYERING DEFENCES. It's funny how they actually introduced the most broken thing for armor builds into the game and no one seems to realize it or atleast just not saying it. im not gunna say either cuz i dont wanna get a nerf before i can make my build. bring back the state of the game in 1.3 vaults of atziri patch
