Get rid of the xp loss

I don't think the XP loss would be so bad if the game were still designed like the older days where you had smaller enemy amounts. In the current game, the XP loss feels kind of harsh when everything is super fast, there's a million mobs, and we're more prone to being one shot by things than we used to.

Losing XP because you played poorly doesn't feel as bad as being one shot by 50 aura stacked enemies just off screen that gave you minimal chance to really outplay it. And these instances seem to come up more frequently as the leagues progress.

This topic...

If you remove the ''only'' danger of playing softcore (xp loss), it diminishes the experience and feeling of fear. People already do not care about dying, imo the xp/death penalty should be much bigger.

:)

you know hwy its called "softcore" right? softcore should not be hard. donno how to put this, cause its basically in the name "insert shapiro meme here"

*death is avoidable sooo ez man you just have to "GIT GUD"*
i mean how in malachais toenail are you able to tell where the next "oneshot" is coming from? like how can people still go to the "FEEDBACK&SUGGESTION" subforum and tell others that give feedback about a super garbage game mechanic
that their opinion is garbage and that theyre punished fairly LMAO :D

sounds kinda like a out of context rob or anonymous :D

About lighthouse, sometimes there are so many mobs that you don't see the flameblast, or whatever other effects, that's the whole fricking point.

And i am not agree'ing with the current state if i die because i don't see a telegraphed attack because of my minions i don't agree about every other time that it's not my minions.

And winter orb does not much damage with gear either. Most people cannot afford mirror tier, but that's a different story

Lets just say you still have not learned the basic rule for survival in poe. Do not stand in on place and never backtrack. As a summoner you have zero reason to stand and get hit by flameblast period. You can agree or not with this reality but that simple rule will keep you alive in 99.9% of situations.

My last instant death was from offscreen something, I don't even know what as I didn't see any mob, anything flying my way or anything on the ground, not that you can see much when you pop the scourge mode.
Just another day in this game.

And this is the key part of this entire issue. The fact that you don't know does not mean you didn't fuck up or that it was a random 1 shot. Record your death, look at what happened, learn. Or take easier way and come and complain about it on forums. Number of times i died and had no idea what killed me before i watched the clip and saw how dumb i was is staggering, and i play HC so i generally have to pay more attention to the character then people do on softcore.
Would this game do well with death recap or death clip build in? Sure pretty much everyone agrees on that in theory, in practice GGG explained pretty well why they can't deliver it.
I would love for XP loss on death to be gone.
As I stated several times on different threads.. Give us the option to toggle death penalty on. Somthing in terms of, if you turn off death penalty for a character, 40/40 challenge is disabled for the entire league. Meaning that you can never achieve 40/40 on any character created afterwards for the current league.

This way elitist can have they chase goal and I can play the casual way.

With Chris saying that they are yet to explore monsters that are faster than players and other act mob buffing, game is about to get more rippy.

Or, you can keep the DP in hard mode, and leave the softcore as easy mode with no DP.
The penalty made sense and was fair when you knew you died because you made a mistake/did something stupid. Now you die so fast, that even your life bar doesnt update fast enough and the death message appears before your life bar is empty. And more often than not, this happens before you even notice something bad is about to happen. In this regard i dont think the penalty is fair anymore and needs to be adjusted.

You can watch mathil stream, he doesnt die all the time weird isnt it?
So yesterday I met Kosis the Revelation in a T14 map. I have never seen this boss before and so I did die a few times but eventually figured out how to do it and killed him.
Did I recover ANY of the experience lost? Not at all, for some reason bosses in this game won't even give you a 0.5% of your bar. Did the boss drop anything of value? Not really, the fight took AGES since the boss is so beefy and all I got were a few simulacrum splinters plus 3 junk rares. The fight took multiple times longer than me clearing the whole map, boss included, and all for what?
Did I die to the telegraphed attacks like the black holes or the beam? No, I died to him being an anime antagonist and teleporting behind me, then oneshoting with a normal attack. That's right, the big flashy skills are nowhere as dangerous as a simple normal melee swing which plain deleted me if I took more than 0.3s to teleport/dash away after he appeared behind me.

This is just how challenging content works in this game, you're risking hours worth of experience for a minuscule chance of getting something of any value at all.
