So apparently Viking warriors also wear HEELS now?

Like I know women warriors have been sexualized for ages.

Male characters have been sexualized just as much for several decades now. Shirtless musclebound adonises with sweat glistening all over their body. Just the right amount of hair in the right places to get the engines running. Plenty of bulging all over the body, muscle and otherwise.

It's been a thing across the board, and not in any way or form limited to one sex or gender.

Quoted for truth... I feel some women completely live in a bubble. :)
*it's only our gender!! ggrrr, why are you sexualizing us!" .. ehhh, have you seen male characters in all games since... forever?

Ok then, so stop making it about genders and instead ask why are humans being sexualized in games. That's the question you could pose.

Because teenage boys are obsessed with sex and that's the target demographic for most games.

It's as simple as that.

There must be a lot of teenage boys playing for "the other team" then... considering male characters have been just as overly sexualized as any female characters since the dawn of the first video game. Read the post above yours lol.
It's not a preference thing. Big strong guys to idolize, curvy barely-clothed women to ogle. It's been like that since I was a kid in the 80s only now it's much more pronounced and obvious with today's graphics and how mainstream gaming is. For me as a kid it was more about movies and sometimes cartoons. Thundercats were well-muscled, chiseled jaw Adonises. He-Man was huge, Rambo, Schwarzenegger etc. Nothing to do with sexual preference it was just something boys and teens looked up to and admired.

This is getting a bit away from the topic of POE though lol.

Viva la Viva la Dirt League!

I've been following 'Viva La Dirt League' for many years now. Those guys/gals are a talented and special bunch. I've always enjoyed their quality content which is rather eccentric/quirky (often times self-deprecating) in regards to 'the realm of humor.' You should check out their short movie 'Baelin's Route' if you haven't already, which is based on the 'Epic NPC Man' series.

The GF couldn't sleep last night and actually woke me up with her laughter upon finding their acted out d and d sessions. I surrendered and watched as well.

Self-deprecation is an AustraZealand speciality. But we only think we are good at it; Kiwis are the undisputed world champs. Our way of dealing with this is, of course, to go with that and self-deprecate them too.

Naturally given current events I don't think anyone has the temerity to be anything but intensely envious of their situation right now...

But yeah, VLDL are the Monty Python of gamers. We have waited decades for them...
If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

I am Path of Exile's biggest whale. Period.

And that was exactly my point.... there isn't anything wrong with it.

We *guys* have been *used* like this since the dawn of video games and nobody cares... men aren't complaining lol... so the author of the thread made a post that sounded like only female characters look sexy and why is that etc etc, when clearly that's not true... male gaming characters have been sexualized just as much as female characters, since forever.

But how many of you battle-hardened exiles fantasize about fighting in goddamn heels? Uhh...

Did You Know Men Were the First to Wear High-heel Shoes?

High-heeled shoes were first worn by Persian soldiers in 10th century to elevate their feet, giving them stability while shooting their bows and arrows. Since then, men heels symbolise high social stature, military power and fashionable taste

i guess people actually did wear high heels in combat

Can we get a picture? 'Platform' shoes would be believable for the elevation, but stiletto heels? Not a chance. Or perhaps for a year until they realized how awful it would be, the 'inventor' was beheaded, and everyone came to their senses.
Yea. Because optional cosmetic mtx is what we should be concentrating on as a community right now.

Absolutely! Indeed. Which is why I ask you - Why are you choosing to concentrate on it here? Confused what I'm on about? See here - https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3163277
