Disappointment with 3.14 "Balance" & The Gaslighting of Anyone who Doesn't Agree with all Changes

Hmmm... Gaslightning is a trend now... Even you will just state your good and humble opinion, someone will just throw a wacko-bashing comment and will burn including their assumed personality of yours.

Idk, probably its a thing for most of us millennials to be toxic, a way to stress out?

Eitherways, it is up to the developer or game managers to implement what they think is good for the game. They have data, experience and on top of that they know all-sides of the story. We are just working on our perspective as a gamer.

We never knew that if these changes is sales driven. In a company mindset, new record sales becomes a new goal to surpass, meaning you are now expected to give sales higher than last year. Breaking meta-build can ramp-up the sales of unused skin skills. Trade League and RnG crafting is promoted to ramp-up the sales of stash tabs. Corporate and Stakeholders always demand for more sales every year.

Idk, this is just an assumption, we will never know until GGG makes a statement.
its a sad game...

It's already announced that 3.15 is going to be a huge balance patch

Careful with this, they've been pretty big on raising expectations and pretty small on delivering recently, alot of sales guff these days.

Like being optimistic is good but i'd stop short of actually believing it until you personally read the notes and can confirm this is huge :p

i'm anticipating that every build i have in standard is going to get the hammer or atleast will need major adjustments to stay viable

Yep as always. I still remember how some random scrubcore player whined about the nerf his 4 mirror Winter Orb build. Things don't change :)

Logoutmacrocore isn't that much more elitist tbh, except some additional micromanagement and boredom. Played a lot of hardcore in diablos before, but here i wouldn't even consider seriously playing it with the present amount of lags/disconnects/crashes. Maybe i'm getting old, hehe.

Well damn. You'd think GGG would get the message by now and to just finalize the game's settings and leave it be; unless doing hotfix patches for crashes. Let's be honest here, how many times have we all seen this same show of let downs since PoE even came out? 1 step forward , 3 steps backwards.

Anyone that doesn't get the "wall" post and other thread posts like these; it's cause we care for the game but hate seeing it crash and burn.
I rarely post, but when I do it's important. Fighting for the player, not monsters! https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/880487

Which brings me to my last point of others on here who very visibly can't stand anyone who shows a dissenting opinion about all of these changes. Well, guess what? I don't agree with any of these changes and think it makes the game worse from my personal experience. Am I not allowed to say that?

Sure you are allowed to say that. But as someone being and working in university I always appreciate another angle or dimension. You don´t bring any of that. To condense what you´ve written:

- Fracture Fossil Change bad
- Skill balance bad
- Harvest changes bad
- Deli-nerfs bad

Congrats, I just summarized your approximately 5000 word-essay in 15 words. Nothing what you´ve mentioned is new, literally everything is covered MULTIPLE times in this forum already, and not only that: We see posts like this on a freakin daily basis. And that´s why people are annoyed by "yet another nerf-wall-of-text". You could have simply posted "agreed" under every single of the given postings instead of making another one with 0 new views or opinions.

"
Or if you have an opinion others disagree with, people resort to stalking your profile and attack you based on character if you don't have enough level 100's, which means you're not experienced enough to give your opinion

Yeah, that´s the only "takeaway" from that post, but then, why bother with people like that? I recently had my own experience with such sad forum-troll that took random things HE valued (levels) to determine my experience or opinion, while others might value different things (economics/Challenges/whatsoever). Just ignore those people if they stay away from valuable or constructive posts and report them if they deviate into personal attacks, simple. Not worth your time to argue with them.

Hey there, OP. I've read your entire post and this is what I have to say about it:

From the standpoint of GGG and decisions regarding the development of the game, they have the absolute authority to do with it what they will. It is best to never lose sight of that reality not to create false expectations.

BUT, it is also best to never lose sight of the fact that we're not chained to a game. And, if decisions made turn it unfun, frustrating and cumbersome, be mindful that we don't need to subject ourselves to any of that, and that it is better to stop. And this is in OUR power.

Irrespective of how others react to your post, and feedback posts in general, rest assured that your going through the trouble of describing in detail what it is that you find disappointing with the game, is the best knowledge you can pass to GGG, even if they decide not to act on it. Just stopping and going away, as I saw others suggest, leaves them with nothing to work with.

Cheers and good luck!
OP: Thank you for the effort you put into your post.
I agree with a lot of the gist of it, with varying mileage.

To me the game is just less fun than it used to be. Enough to keep me here, playing once a week and watching the announcements for good news, but not enough to make it fill my sick days while my bones heal. A different ARPG does that for me currently.

My main gripe: Mapping (the single biggset draw of PoE vs other ARPG: "Look at the crazy endgame options!") has become tedious.
I like trying out new builds occasionally, but I know that after the really fun story and some nice mapping, the grind will start. And it will be a grind without good rewards for a loooong time, because some previous high level character of mine had bumped the conquerors to such a high level that it will take ages before I get the first influenced items to drop.

No, thanks. I love the pacing during the story and into early maps, but this aspect is equally well covered by other ARPGs. And with better combat and fewer lags+bugs.

Hope GGG finds a solution, because I used to absolutely love this game.
May your maps be bountiful, exile
+1k to OP.
I quit PoE in February. There are many, many issues I have with it, and the list just grew longer and longer over the years. (started in 2016)
A few off the top:

- Performance issues
(especially load times just before I quit, which I realized is due to the huge number of mtx "bling" that need to reside in memory, so they always load if you encounter other players with them)
- Endless grindfest, often due to RNG-fest
- Meta-focussed, only a handful of builds are viable
- Low survivability unless near-min/max'ed build
- Nerfing the fun out of it every league
- Siding with, and developing for, the top 0.1% of gamers
- 100% Chinese-owned game

I've since uninstalled it, never to be installed again.

Coming back to read the Feedback section today, just being curious, I see the state of PoE has only deteriorated since then.

I wish you had the self-awareness to see the irony of saying that.
