I dont think anyone here generally recommended standard to a new player with fresh new account.

That is the topic of this thread.

After a few leagues it is just the better choice though to play std in my opinion if you value your time and progression.
But ofc if you dont value any of that there are eternal league players too.

Play whichever league you want. Standard leagues will always be where characters eventually ended up in. Temporary leagues will always be temporary leagues. Evil laugh.gif

I like how standard players are desperately trying to argue their way out of this.

If standard was sooooo good, it would be the most popular mode to play. It isn't.

Dude.....your are league player or not : 4/40

I barely play league (only 1 day ~ish of in-game time): 11/40

I just play both. This whole conflict was never real.

I do agree with OP that new players should start in league, and actually time when they start so its in the first month of the league. I just think new players have WAY more things to worry about. Making a coherent build and understanding the bloat of mechanics are much more of a concern for them than anything economy-related.
We're all in this leaky boat together, people.

All this stupidity could be solved if GGG gave a shit about trade inconvenience .....they don't.

Trading is a core part of the game but it's not critical. Otherwise, SSF wouldn't exist.

It is part of the Core Game and critical because GGG balance Drop Rates around the Economy. They say themselves that drop rates would be lowered if they made an Auction House, for example. I wish that this Economy was a little bit more healthy.. but how to achieve that? Well, that's a different thread.

By the Way: The SSF League is *still* balanced around the Economy. It's a Restriction Players put on themselves. It's also a cop-out (What people usually wanted in an SSF League was a League balanced around, well.. SSF) to eliminate that big SSF Discussion Years ago.

No, It's not critical. You still would be able to (and can) play the game without trading.

You can also play it with one hand.

I mean, come on. Of course you can. But the Dev thinks it's critical. They balance the System around it. And you have to know that it's harder to play solo (Basically Hard Mode)

Then it is one less thing that a new player needs to learn, or get involved into, in order to make the game work.

I mean, it's not a game mechanic. It's a feature. It's not essencial that you engage in trading to be able to play the game.
